Do you think I’m ok using a 12v splitter plug so that I can power my avtex tv and a sound bar ?

Big improvement on the sound but unless you have arc hdmi output on the tv you have to turn the volume up on a different controller.
So i now have 2 remotes one for volume and one to change channel ? time for me to upgrade to the avtex pro ?

TRUE?

I’ll check my paperwork , cheers

Avtex tv and sound bar in split socket...YES.. are they worth it YES YES YES

Modern flat screen TV all seem to have the speakers out the back, they are louder behind than in front.

Nope disagree... yes louder but that is not the function of a sound bar... it is the quality... you don't go to state of the art cinema for volume you go for surround sound.. and clarity.

We have Avtex Pro and the Avtex soundbar. There is a huge difference in the sound. My wife is hard of hearing so struggles with the tv speakers but easily hears the soundbar. We bought the soundbar at the NEC show last year. Great piece of kit.

I have a cheap rechargeable soundbar which, although it's not super loud, is much better than the speakers on my old Avtex TV.

Definitely, the base is non existent on tv, sound bar much better, very noticeable when you toggle between the two,
Also for volume secondly can’t turn ours up higher than 4 or 5 good for listening when the rain is hammering on roof!

We sell them

The sound is a vast improvement, without a doubt.

They are too expensive, for what they, the link SMB posted as an example.

Play Dire Straits “Private Investigation” the the Avtex and and say a Bose mini sound bar, which is the same kind of money, and you will hear an amazing difference.

Slight hi jack but interested to know if the soundbar is in sync with the telly when connected via Bluetooth?

No, which is stupid
Another "No" from me. Mind you there's no need when the two are normally inches apart. The two remotes issue doesn't exist with my cheapo (£25) soundbar. Plugged into the TV headphone socket the TV volume control works fine. There's a sweet spot for the soundbar setting but once noted the volume can be varied using the TV remote.

Why is it stupid? Some Bluetooth /wireless devices can suffer latency with video to sound.
If, Avtex has manufactured the sound bar to overcome the sound quality of their TV's you would think as a manufacturer that their "bespoke" sound bar would work with their own TV's

We also sell Avtex TV's but, unless there are some major updates PDQ they will loose the market.

When was the last time anyone bought a TV that wasn't Smart for example?

Are the sound bars worth their money ?

My Hab TV has two tiny speakers facing the rear, even at full volume I couldn't always hear what was being said.

I bought the cheapest, smallest I could find.

It was not advertised as being 12v but a look at the specs showed that was the input from a 240v plug.

It came with a 'tunnel' cigar lighter plug with four USB ports on the side and a USB power cable.

So the 'tunnel' plugs into the supply, the TV into the tunnel and the Sound Bar is powered by one of the USB plugs.

I have no ideas of any details, it was probably from Amazon, I will check my Order History and see if it goes back that far.

Why not just wire the TV sound to your head unit, that's what I always do.

Our 43” Panasonic works fine, it’s smart and has loads of volume. :gum:

I've done that in the past. I don't do visible wiring so that alone was a major headache. The sound via the radio in this case would also be behind me which meant crossing L/R in the cable. My cheap soundbar involves 9" of plugged wiring and is above the TV on the same mount. So when the TV is retrieved from its cave the soundbar comes with it and is ready for use.

Any photos of how you fixed the sound bar in place above tv , please
