On my way home from the Lincoln show i thought i would take a look at north Wales and Shell Island.
The distance was about 200 miles but a good drive and found the roads from Chester on good and light traffic. The last few miles being a bit tight but out of season as it is not a problem. The site is a must to see being able to park right upto the beach nice walks and great views, here are a few pics.

I saw tents, caravans, motorhomes/campervans so i think most things are ok, have a look at the website. During the hight of summer there were 3000 onsite so i was told at reception, not sure if thats people or vans/tents etc.

Hi Steve, I was only saying to Trev last night that I hadn't seen you on the forum. This explains why. We drove past Shell Island at the beginning of September when we were staying at my sisters static caravan in Dolgellau. We discovered a wild camping spot in Fairbourne for when we have the motorhome with us next time. Glad you had a good time!

No caravans allowed on Shell. Tents, trailer tents and motorhomes only.

    Yup.. Thanks for that Steve..
The P.O.S. ( piece of S!!! ) that we saw in the office just simply stole from us..
It was late, he was on his own and wanted cash payment.. We were charged over £50 for two nights in September last year
If the bloody place was not so far away I would go back and find the geezer ( little rat faced bloke about late 20's ) and 'explain' to him how badly he had messed up..
Should I ever go back to the area ( unlikely to be honest ) I shall be sure to call in and tell who ever is in charge what happened ( willing to bet 'rat boy' is long gone by now )

Steve you were parked right were Joy and us were parked, great pitch, like you said bikes were a blessing.., did you find the cycle track round the back of the Island that took you to the village , the hotel The Victoria Inn, really good food and lovely walk along the river.
