They have known about it for over 3 months and still haven't patched it.
If you are using Microsoft Edge browser or IE 11. Please change over to Google Chrome, Firefox or some other browser straight away.

Now that the details are out in the wild, it won't take long for black hats to figure out how to exploit it. Expect real world exploits within days.

I've just had the computer guy go through my computer because it wasn't connecting to the internet. He uninstalled stuff and it's working now but oh so slow. Do I just ignore Microsoft Edge and try to access the internet some other way ................ I wish I knew more.

I must admit I have not used Interest Explorer for several years and am happy with Chrome. I never gave either Edge or IE11 a second thought when I bought a new Windows 10 computer last summer. I just installed and used Chrome from the very beginning.

That's really annoying, especially as I keep getting Microsoft pop ups saying edge can run so much faster than chrome

Hi Gromett, is there a way of permanently disabling Edge because I can't find it. On my laptop with Win 10 nearly every time the pc comes out of sleep mode Edge opens.

Settings > system > default apps. Then change your default web browser to Chrome.

I am sorry I am not a windows person (I use linux) so perhaps not the best person to advise on windows stuff sorry

I know when I used to use windows it crapped out on me regularly so I ended scheduling a fresh install every 12-18 months to get it back up to speed. Although I had two hard drives one for data and one for the system/programs. So a reinstall didn't involve any data loss.

Sorry no idea. I don't use windows.

I follow IT security news on at least a daily basis and if I come across anything that might be useful to funsters I post it . It is part of my job to keep up with security issues, but not fortunately to keep any Microsoft products on my own system

There must be something you can do, because mine never behaves like that when it comes out of sleep mode. And its Microsoft laptop/tablet!!
