friends of mine just left there and said the main area has been made off limits (new signs) due to abuse by people setting up for the winter (tourist office info) . there were a few vans using the street by the dump point but they sat there for an hour and just didnt like it so left and went to rota.

There appears to be a privately owned aire just outside of town.
Found it on CamperContact today (24252).
From the photos and comments it looks more like a simple camp site with hook-up and plenty of space.

We stayed one night on the main area and were moved off the next day by police, there is parking allowed further down on the beach plus the aires out of town which has been mentioned already

We were there last month and parked just outside the Aire near the service points. There never seemed to be a problem and the area is nice.

When speaking to those who had been there for sometime they informed us that the police informed them to park outside the Aire. We stayed for three nights, no problems.

Just talked to some folk who just came from there a few days ago!
They stayed on the street with police permission for over a week!
Parking overnight ,while observing all the rules of parking but not camping!!

Just left after 3 nights, no problems apart from a very noisy nightclub on Saturday that kept going till 4am. Toilet dump and fresh water on the street. A town well worth a visit for Sherry, food and history, don't mention the Armada or Drake around these parts.

We're currently on the privately run aire between Sanlucar and Chipiona. 8 euros per night, plus 2 for electricity. Very pleasant and helpful owner, clean showers and toilets, all other services. The beach is just across the road. Only problem is that there are limited shops nearby, so probably better for those with secondary transport.

We have just parked here at what I think is the far end of the beach. Just arrived and a man on a cycle came showing us a piece of paper saying no parking. Doesn't look official though and not even in headed paper.

There are 3 other vans parked and no signs so we will perhaps expect a knock in middle of the night.

Will move on somewhere else tomorrow.

Chipiona is nice, water is available but not sure about cassette tipping, we used the aire at Rota which is about 9 miles away. Parking at Rota is nice too.

When you leave chipiona, and head north west, there is a go -cart track, on the opposite side of the road, there is an official place to empty the cassette ,back the other way
At les tres piedras, there is a place to fill containers from a tap.
Good luck

Is the cassette dump signposted or hard to find?

Sorry about that, the A-480,only runs North East for a short distance and then turns East!
If you see that go cart park, the toilet facility is not far away.
Also if you look up Google maps, for Calle Playa de las Tres Piedras, you will see the vans parked ,and there is a manhole used for the cassettes, at the trees in towards the beach huts!
The vans tend to be mostly Spanish ,and they do get moved off from time to time!!
Good luck
