Lots of the spaces at Hubert lathom aire near Sangatte seem to have been posted off..concreted into the floor.
Not sure what they are planning to do with the space...maybe they may be adding services ??.

People used to park up there when the aire was full so it looks like it will just be wasted space nowšŸ™

Yes I know but they shouldn't have so not wasted space. Maybe they should swap the bus depot and Aire round as it always seems popular and one of our favourites.

Wasted space as in no one can park there now.

I almost took one back to Africa. He ran off down the beach. They all assume everyone is returning to UK being so close to Calais.
Never been any problems there and a good mix of nationalities so they wouldn't know which way people were going anyway.šŸ‘

But they shouldn't have anyway?
Yes people have been parking/overnighting there for ages totally allowed/expected. It's not a bus "depot" per day is it ? it's a convenient turn round point for the bus thats all. It has been marked out for parking for years.

Sign says busses only if my basic French is correct. I know its been used as a type of overflow but......

That's on the turn round part yes, one way...I guess to stop usual traffic driving through by mistake off the main drag. It's always been used as an aire overflow and bins / direction signs always been placed and emptied etc.
Works have been on going and are finished tomorrow. Then I guess they will remove the height barriers as they usually do to the other parts. But the top end still will have those poles in the floor for some reason.

Just a waste of space...wondering what they will do. I'm sure there must be plans available somewhere. But the signs on site say works finished tomorrow.

We stayed on the site for the first time last night. Only the road with the toilet block and adjacent (parallel to) the cemetery wall did not have height barriers on, allowing the motor homes to park there. Last night when we arrived we noticed a newly concrete base pad each side of the road near to the toilet. This morning workmen bolted down a timber post on each pad with holes at the top ready for height barrier to be fitted. Looked to us that motorhome parking along this road was to be stopped. Wife looked at a notice board map nearby and it showed motorhome parking at Wissant and Boulogne but no mention at Sangatte.

Must say I never noticed the new concrete pads this morn and didn't even notice posts.? But these barriers and sign was in place and I can see them in that

we were there last week, local authority probably fed up with people emptying their black waste in the toilets, with signs everywhere asking you not to. Looks like another good free aire close to the tunnel disappearing due to the minority spoiling it for the majority.

They could of put an emptying point in the toilet and even charged a few of ā‚¬ to stay to cover costs, but then I suppose the FLT's would still use the toilet FOC anyway.

The entry from Park4Night has gone.

Pete
The plot thickens...says top end is closed for good. Normal aire parking doesn't at part next to cemetery
