We have been going to France for many years but have never kept a log of where we have been!Someone had an article in MMM about the Rose Granit coast and we followed their route and stopped at a nice site with the inlet with boats in right in front of us.The coastal path took you around to the next bay where there was a statue on the beach and well known ice cream shop with dozens of flavours!Walking the other way you came to a small resort with a sea life centre. We are annoyed we can’t remember where it is.I can remember there was an aire probably a mile down the road opposite a supermarket.Any one know where I am talking about😊

Reading this post has made me realise how much we love this area. We had a house in Jugon les lacs, near Dinan for 10 years and loved the area. We sold up, long story, but our next foray into France will be the entire Brittany coastal route. Miss out August and you are in a world of wonderful places with not much traffic. Plenty of aires to stop at and campsites aplenty. If you like sea food and crepes you’re in heaven. Can’t wait.

Every time we go we get rained off! One day ....

Yes! That’s the statue😊got a photo of the wife sat in front of it.think the campsite was around the next bay!Hoping we might get to Brittany in September if things improve😊found it now CAMPING TOURONY,!😊😊😊

It can happen. Stick to May June September.

That's the usual time we go! Actually we tried last June / july, just as the second French lockdown ended. The roads to Brittany were packed, mostly with traffic from Paris. Never seen it so busy. So stayed inland, had a great time. some great aires!

I think the article you mentioned can probably be blamed on me. :) It was based on the experience of several trips to the area. This thread might help as a reminder. :)

Edit:. I don't know why that thread ends after two pages. Curious - the trip was a bit longer than that!

The small resort with the sea aquarium and the aire you are referring to is Trégastel. The statue is the Oratory of Saint-Guirec at Plage Saint Guirec in Ploumanac'h. Beautiful part of Brittany.

Booked a ferry in September with everything crossed and both double jabbed. We intend to mooch around Brittany. Cannot wait.

Mum owned a Gite in Plounevez Moedec, more of a doer upper really. Loads of happy holidays on that coast, when my kids were young. I went back a few years ago, and the whole area was dead in June. Still beautiful though.

Hoping to go back in September all been well!Depends on COVID and my hip( playing up)!Anywhere else there we should defiantly go to?Worth going back for the ice cream although the one we had in Metz were the best we have ever had.I tried several but the pink grapefruit was the best!!Didnt know then though that I was diabetic☹️
