That's the same rate I would get with my Clarity credit card - Am I missing something?

Not sure. With Revolut people are looking at the € rate to decide when to preload it with that currency.
How does Clarity work?

Revolut doesn't decide the exchange rate it gives you...

It ALWAYS gives you the interbank exchange rate at the very time you decide to make an exchange.

OK. That simple then. Soz
I have a GBP & separate Euro area on my Revolut so I assumed we were looking for when to move some of the GBP balance to the Euro section while the rate was good.

My income (pension) is paid in Sterling in the UK.

My UK bank is linked to my Revolut Card.

When I want some (more) money I just press a couple of buttons on my phone and the pounds are on my card.

Anytime I want more Euros I just exchange some pounds into Euros by pressing a couple of buttons on the Revolut app on my phone.

24 hours a day, seven days a week and all transactions free of charges.

I can move Euros into my Portugese bank from Revolut just pressing a couple of buttons.

The very rare times I want cash I just visit an ATM (Multibank) machine.

REVOLUT ROOLS...

It's too late for this trip (leaving tomorrow) but can someone tell me how the Revolut card works please? Can you make purchases using it? I can see cash withdrawals can be made. Is it a normal CC?

TIA
John

It’s a debit card so put some £ on from a bank account and then convert to the cutter of choose getting the rate at that very moment, then just sit back and watch the rate change? you get a card to make purchases.

Got €1.2007
Instant transfer can’t complain at that.
using it everywhere in Spain.
as I’m at the till it’s telling me what I have spent and where.
quite impressed with it really.

Revolut does so very, very much more than just enabling you to get cash or make purchases in shops and restaurants etc.

It can give you a bank account, give you credit, can transfer money between other Revolut card holders instantly, buy Bitcoin, trade in stocks and shares... and more.

Interested Funsters really should Google it and spend time studying what services it offers.

Perfect for border crossing travellers (in or out of motorhomes).

Ive just d/l the app. Cant see how to add my bank details so I can buy some euros.

It's just a credit card, but you always get that days bank euro exchange rate - and no charges

In my experience it is not always the exchange rate at the time of the transaction but the rate when the transaction reaches the UK bank which can be the next day. Of course the rate could change to your advantage in the time delay.

Revolut exchanges are instantaneous.

Hmm. A quick look at the revolut app and from memory, I think the easiest way to top up the running balance is to push money to it from your current account.

Revolut show you the sort code & acc # etc. in the app to set up payments so I have it setup on my current account as a preferred payment so it's simple and money moves in a couple of minutes.
checking on alt. methods....

And when you have a balance on the revolut app you can add a 2nd currency area - account - (euros typically!) and buy into that currency with the GBP balance.
There are other ways I assume but above is what I've done.

Add your debit card to your main currency (British Pounds?) and then click the "Add Money" button and choose how much to add to your £ account which can then be exchanged into other currencies.
