I want to fit a reversing camera to my Fiat Ducato PVC. I do not really want to drill holes in the van but have seen those that fit in rear brake light. As I use a towbar fitted cycle rack, would a rear tail light fitted camera see behond the cycle rack ?
Any advice would be welcome.

Movano/Master vans have separate brake light low down on rear door so yes it would be blocked by cycle rack...HOWEVER I believe most if not all othet vans extra brake lights are right up on top of roof above rear doors so you should be fine

Mine is inclusive in the upper brake light and I see very well for around 10m back from the van. It has the distance grid as well. As for seeing beyond a cycle rack, yes it’s fine for that, I have a scooter rack fitted and carry a motor scooter. Bought the setup from Park cameras, good product, fit it yourself. You just need to be able to access the brake light holding bolts from inside the van. I can take a pic if its any use?

Sorry it was Parkingcameras.com, good products

I had an issue with one. When you braked at night it (the brake light) flooded the CMOS and you lost vision?.

I think the only solution is a shield on light or camera or to position further away.

Yes, but if it is located IN the Light Fitting?. Mine was an early one. They may have come up with a solution by now. But it`s worth remembering. I suppose you could put a photo cell in the circuit and switch it (the light) out at night?.

Sorry. Forgot they did that model. My DRW was stand alone.
