The blinds on the drivers and passenger doors are very noisy/rattly when driving. Before I attempt to find a solution has anyone else had this issue and how have you solved it?
Thanks
Paul

open them first ... :imoutahere:

Bits of sticky back sponge in strategic places cured most of ours.

My other comments was obviously in fun but has anyone noticed daft sticker on the screens that shows that you MUST open them before driving ... would someone really try to drive with them closed?

If it can be done, it will be done:LOL:

You can just imagine the risk assessment meeting at Remis blinds when that particular sticker was first discussed!

Our passenger side frame rattled against the door glass frame but a bit of black tack held it still.
Ours a bit similar. Have wedged small chunks of foam in where I can, but occasionally fall out over time. So need a slightly more permanent fix. ;) :)

Keeping the engine revs over 2500rpm solves it for me.

Black tack is similar to Blue tack but sticks like the proverbial poo to a blanket but is removable and non setting.
I used to use it to temporarily mount external bullet cameras to 140 mph race cars.
It's handy stuff to keep on the motorhome.

Thanks for those suggestions. Looks like a bit of trial and error using the ideas above.

An update. I've got the MH at home and I think I have found a cause for the excessive rattling. It seems to be an installation issue. At the bottom edge by the door, the frame of the blind is held in place by 2 sided sticky pads. Well, mine wasn't being held in place because the backing on one side of the pads was still in place. This was on both doors! Backing removed and now fitting snug.

The way the claim culture is escalating in the UK/EU some clown would do it and then say he was not told they had to open when moving vehicle

... must be intended for the American market then!

We had a similar problem on a Hobby Siesta motorhome & solved it with some velcro straps abouy 8" long (sometimes called cable ties) available from a well known internet auction site. You can strap them round the vertical post, easy to remove when you want to use the blinds & only seconds to put back in place.

I think I'll try an arrangement of dashcam wired to a TV screen :)

Tomorrow will see if what I have done has improved it.

We are taking delivery of our new Pilote next week, the blinds pull up from the bottom as opposed to sliding across. This modification is supposed to stop any rattles. Fingers crossed :D

Let's hope so.

I had this problem, there is a small removable piece at the top and there was a screw that was loose on both doors behind it. Tightened them up no more rattles.

Yes. I've done that and hopefully sorted out where it was not fixed to door frame. We're setting out soon and hopefully rattle free!

Sorted. Now I can hear all the other rattles!

Hi Paul, I have a set on my Autotrail. I didn't know they were Remis until I looked them up. Yes, noisy as hell, only had the van a couple of weeks and they're driving me nuts (I have a thing about squeaks and rattles). I took them off the doors, put a rubber edging strip around the entire perimeter, added and self-tapped two extra fixing holes at the rear verticals, and pushed a rubber grommet between the large vertical rail and the door. All this has just about cured it but it was a lot of effort, and fuss. You have to just locate each squeak as you go along, there's no magic bullet. Basically they come with not enough fixing holes with long lengths unsecured which of course rattle. Sloppy design I think.

Now, on to the rest of the van....

One rattle down, two hundred to go then.

Our Autotrail was absolutely horrendous for noise and I couldn't hear myself think because of the rattles coming from the doors, shutters, windows, mircrowave, ancillary equipment etc etc.

Good luck (y)

Our Rapido 9048 was like driving a dishwasher.. I just cut up some softish foam in various sizes and closed all the cabinet doors and lockers onto the, which solved a lot of it. Then we noticed the blinds. A chunk of softish foam about 70mm square gently wedged at all four corners when the blind is open and the difference is incredible, a really nice quiete drive now, apart from the creaks from the overall bodywork and my joints.
