Well here we go again. After the dreaded injectors problem that 2019 Transits were plagued with, we had Injector 1 fail and replaced under warranty by Ford in 2021. Mileage on van about 3000. Picked up from dealer, on the way home, suddenly no power, kangarooing etc. Absolute nightmare getting the van back to the dealer, through a city with the van going into to limp mode at each stop for traffic, signals etc.

Injectors 2, 3 and 4 replaced under warranty. After this no problems - until the weekend. Took the van out, limp mode, juddering at engine speeds between 1500 and 3000 RPM. Managed to get home by driving in manual and keeping the revs high enough.

Used my professional diagnostics kit, looks like Injector 1 has failed again. Ford say not under any warranty, Injectors only have 12 month warranty, despite acknowledgement that there was a major problem with Injectors on this series of van - but all should be OK as the replacements fitted would have been of a different design! Ford can't fit the van in until June 14th. Getting fed up with this now, is this something I will have to expect every couple of years? Really has dented my confidence in the Transit base now.

If they are the new ones then yes I also would be doubtful about a repeated failure at such a low mileage.
The loom will have had some movement during the replacement and I would be looking for a fault there first.
As pappajohn said, if it’s your money paying for the repairs, get a specialist involved as it will be a lottery to get a Ford technician to actually know what they are looking for especially if the computer says……………..

I think the OP is indicating that it is injector 1 which was replaced in 2021 which has gone faulty, which was 3000 miles ago. And Ford will not replace it under warranty.

It would probably be as cheap / expensive to just get Ford to put a new injector in as to get the old one removed and sent off for refurbishment.

Mine is a 68 plate so not one of the ones affected with faulty injectors but I have had all 4 replaced due to corrosion from water ingress. Maybe your new injector has corroded due to Fords allowing rainwater in?

I read it as them being changed (all) in 2021 and therefore should be the revised ones. Mileage comment unclear if 3000 miles then or now but either way they haven’t done enough mileage to be likely to repeat fail as updated injectors.
Reference cost, if paying dealer prices I still think a specialist would be better value for money and skills and they would still be able to supply new as they aren’t a Ford manufactured part.

There are a couple of guys producing stainless steel trays which fit above your engine on your model to prevent the water ingress to the injectors. But apparently the corrosion does not cause the injector to go faulty, just makes it damn hard to remove come the time.

Thanks to everyone for the replies, I will be going to Ford as the service manager said afterwards that Warranty MIGHT be a consideration. To clarify, the Van has done about 4000 miles since all the injectors were replaced. Wish I could do the coding to the ECU myself, that's where Ford make the money I guess.....
For info, should it be necessary to replace all 4 again (gulp) and not under warranty, Ford have said £1500 approximately.

I have the Rob Drew tray and various other modifications to prevent water ingress now. The amount of rain water the Rob Drew tray collects and drains is massive!
One of my fuel injectors sheared off due to corrosion. I had to be taken to a garage on a flat bed truck as it was leaking diesel.
I had to have that injector drilled out and as the other injectors showed some corrosion I got them changed as well.

I went to a fuel injector specialist. It cost me just under a £1000 for 3. The other one was more expensive due to them having to get someone in to drill it out.

For further info, if that is the case, time to call Trading Standards, Watchdog or Rip Off Britain methinks. Otherwise a letter to Ms Lisa Brankin, Managing Director Lisa.Brankin@ford.com giving details and threatening the above.

You can code the injectors yourself. You need to download Forscan software, it's free. Buy the adapter lead that Forscan recommends, get the lead, not Bluetooth.

Then there is a section in Forscan to allow you to enter the injector code into the ECU. You will probably have to do the injector "learns" as well, which Forscan also handles.

We had 4 in a 2006 transit. Have ford still not worked out how to build injectors yet?

This is how you do it^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
