Rapido 640
Exp
Since 2012
We are thinking of buying the new Rapido 640. Anyone out there purchased one recently and can gives us their thoughts. Other option could be the Auto trail 632, again any thoughts?

Rapido over the Autofail with all the problems they are having.

Not got the same as you are looking at...

But I have found the build quality is superb and on a par with Nishman Biscoff and the Burstner Elegance range...:thumb:

Well, we took delivery of our third Rapido, a 640, yesterday!
So far, wonderful. Drove home like a dream, very car like. We are leaving on Tuesday for our first trip. Obviously the bed is an enormous attraction, you really can get to both sides. Seems to be plenty of storage though not as conventional as our previous Rapidos (a 773 and a 7087). Usual Rapido quality.
Will post again when we get home in a week or so. Off to Van Bitz at Taunton to get the alarm fitted.

Thanks for all the replies, I think we may well steer clear of the Auto:thumb::thumb:trail given the problems you have highlighted.
Look forward to hearing how your first trip goes Downsie

Just wondered if you are back from your first trip and how did it go, has the 640 lived up to your expectations? Curious what alarm you were having fitted.

Had a 2008 Rapido and loved it. Went all over Europe and Morocco in it.
Very good build quality BUT we looked at the new ones and thought that the weight (or cost?) saving had a negative impact on the quality of the cabinetry in particular. (Particle board instead of solid wood)
We bought a Burstner Elegance which has similar level of quality in my opinion to the new Rapidos.
So, we bought a bigger van with lower quality:Doh::Doh:
If you are looking at a USED Rapido more than a couple of years old you will be getting a very good quality van.
All in my humble opinion of course.

If you are going to buy a Rapido, give Paul at Wokingham Motorhomes a call, small dealership but gives 100% service,:thumb:
