I think it's easier to use the stepped ones. Okay, you don't have the option to stop at any height but it's easier to get the van stopped at a height that's "close enough".
had the wedges for a few years and not always big enough so got the stepped. Bigger and heavier but easier on the clutch and handbrake! Carry both now and use the wedges for the steadies if I can be bothered to use them.
I had stepped ones and, as already said, they are easier to use - especially if you're on your own.
However, I did not like the way that the tyre sat on top of the pointy-bit (technical term) if parked up for several days so I've swapped to sloped ramps - and a man to guide me up them
Milenco quatro - not only stepped but also shaped to take the tyre. Solid, strong and never has issues sinking. I even use them on my other vehicles as standard ramps when doing the odd job.
I've seen several milenco where the front has broken off when driven over the top including my own lol
Champers on tag axel mh bought some large ones from towsure.
They are high but very light.
Am considering buying some
I would like stepped ones for the extra height but as Janine said don't like how some dig into tyre, they seem to be made for smaller diameter tyres than 16" wheels
