Just in the process of fitting out basics for new MH (total newbies), what pots and pans can you recommend? Thank you.

Three lightweight pots with lids, frypan and a skillet. Plus a small pressure cooker.
We also use kitchen towels to wipe before washing, big difference!

We have this:

Amazon product ASIN B078KSPKYJ
Bit pricey for pans but good for saving space.
I tried the stacking system ones in John Lewis but found the removable handle tricky. Ok if you buy enough handles for each pan, but I like to be able to move pans around as things come to the boil or might suddenly burn prefer to grab a fixed handle.
We manage with 2 medium sized saucepans and one frying pan. I also carry a couple of enamel plates to keep things warm under the grill or in the oven.

One of these and a frying pan only need 1 burner (less gas) and the pans can be utilised as colander if needed pick the size to suit your needs mine is only little (ample for 2) this is argos but is only for example prices vary .......

How many people?
We have a hawkins 3l pressure cooker for the van but 6l for home, now just the 2 of us.
The aldi pans with separate handles are spot on, recently replaced pans we had for 20 yrs, buy the right ones now and they could outlive you. The tefal ones are simular. We have always had specific equipment for camping but if you have enough space just borrow stuff from home untill you bed in and are moulded by the experience.

Trust me..... Basically .... it's each to their own...

You may find that - what ever your preferences are in a domestic kitchen suite van life...

You need to consider - how much of a cook you are?... From scratch... or bung it in the Micro... or eat out..

Are you likely to be feeding others? - I sometimse feed as many as 13!!.. ( not often ) but have enough "stuff" to cope... Eating outside Obv!..

My best advice would be...

Take some basics.... and if you find yourself short of something (a particular pot or pan etc)... buy it next opportunity.. (however... Not if it's a one off use!... Get over it )

This advice is from a full timer (y)

I can't / don't cook. If at home I'd stab it twice and wait for it to go Piiiiing! So in the motorhome, where storage space is at a premium, although I have a 3 hob cooker, in practice I'll only even use one pot, or one frying pan. They don't seem to be doing them at the moment, but the nestable Amazon basics cookware set fitted the bill. Quite similar to the Kitchen Craft linked above, but included a frying pan and not so many pots.

Do watch that the size of any pots and pans is compatible with your hob. There may be limits how big (diameter) you should go.

How many of you are there?
What sort of food do you like to cook (warming up or from scratch)?
What cooking equipment do you have... burners, oven, microwave?
BBQ?

Tried various, but now use a set of 3 lightweight non stick saucepans smallest is about, .5 litre, 1 and then 1.5 litres. So storage is the size of the largest as the others all fit in, no lids. Bought from a Chinese Supermarket 2 years ago in Southern Spain. They were ideal as they didn't take a lot of stove space being more tall than wide. ( won't buy anything Chinese if I can help it now). Otherwise, big user of the microwave and a Halogen Oven on hook up. Sold the Cadac Safari2 as too unstable and only 2 heat settings, very hot and extremely hot.
Beware of the silicon cook ware, washing bowls etc. Very, very easy to put a sharp knife through the sides.

I love to cook so i have taken a good selection of decent quality pans. My trusty large wok which has a glass lid so is great for stir frys, curries or spag bol etc, one medium saucepan and a baby one that fits inside. I got one from IKEA and the little one from tk max and chose them as they have small metal loop side handles rather than a long sticky out one so they can also be used as a casserole dish in the oven. I have a piece of bubble wrap for each so they don't rattle. Also have a ridge monkey which is very versatile.

I treated myself to some of the Ingenio pans from Clarkes village when they were doing one of their 20% off weekends. I like them. I use the big pans at home and have the small ones in the van. I know Sheddy and a few others got some real bargain similar sets from Lidls at the same time which was a bit vexing!
Its only the really top of the range Ingenio that can be used on induction hobs which doesn’t matter for most van users.

Another vote for Tefal Ingenio here. Good quality and they can be bought in sets that includes two handles. I think we got ours in a deal from Groupon and paid a fraction of the normal costs. Wish we'd got two sets now as they are better than the ones we have in the house (as my wonderful wife often points out).

We’ve split our Ingenio set between MH & home. It does mean we had to buy a couple of extra handles.

Are the ones in the kitchen due a change?? If so replace the ones in kitchen with new, move orig to van if you then find you don't use them dump them.
Also I bought a small 2tier steamer as one at home too big. Ordered it off Amazon.

Tefal ingenio for me. I use the large ones from the set in the house and the small ones in the van. I only have a small two burner cooker and no oven. Only the non stick ones were on offer when I bought so need pan protectors in the van to stop the non stick rubbing off. I use round silicone mats to do this and can also use them to stand the pan on the table even when hot.

We spend most of our time on hook up, and therefore use a portable induction hob a lot of the time in conjunction with a Cadac Safari Chef. IKEA 365 pans for me: I bought them many years ago and we just take them out of the kitchen into the motorhome. Weight is not an issue...

I don’t cook a lot in the van (I cook at home and freeze it, eat out and eat steak and salad!) so I only carry a crepe pan, small milk pan and a halogen oven. I use the pans I replaced from home after we moved to a house with an induction hob, and my home pans wouldn’t work on it. I had a whole set of non stick induction stacking ones with folding handles that I really liked, but hardly ever used, so I spent more time unstacking and restacking than I did cooking with them!

This is the best advice (y)
Think about the pans you use most at home and then get equivalents for the MH (assuming you're planning on cooking similar things).

For our last MH we just bought a two cheap saucepans - one small & one large (well actually its more of a medium size, but its big enough for 2 portions of pasta....I don't need a stock pot in the MH!). Added a frying pan from the kitchen drawer and a Tefal saute pan (this is the pan I use most...at home and away). We could use ordinary ones with normal handles because they fit in a cupboard built in/under the cooker. The new MH has less convenient pan storage so I bought a secondhand set of Tefal Ingenio from Ebay - again, just one small and one large pan, the wok/saute pan and a frying pan. As we also have an oven I also carry a shallow roasting pan.

I have a two tier steamer and a frying pan. As we don’t have an oven in the van we carry a halogen oven, but honestly I’ve never used it! We cook meat mainly on the BBQ (a small Webber with screw on gas canister). I cook new potatoes in the bottom pan of the steamer whilst using the top two tiers for the veggies. Everything else, such as Bologanise, Paella is done in the frying pan.
