Where can I find the info on this please? All I can find is this website which says that the stay the night trial had ended and all of the car parks have reverted back to no overnight stays.
Thats the correct website, it has been mentioned in a few place that they will do it again from the 26th just waiting for the FC to confirm this.

Even if they don't run this scheme again the CP will still be open and you still have loads of wild camping options in this area.

We rented a cottage about 10 years ago, and it was very wet and stormy even by Scottish standards. However we had a great time. As previously mentioned Iona and Tobermory are must sees. If you are into wildlife I recommend a day's safari with one of the local guides. they know whee to get the best sitings of sea otters, Golden and White Tailed Eagle, cetaceans and divers. Also a boat trip to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles where in the nesting season you will be tripping over vast numbers of puffins and lots of cliff nesting birds.

If you go to Mull you can book the Balamory tour and if you're lucky you might meet PC plod :):). The last time I was on Mull was about 19 years ago when I took my Daughter to see Balamory :)
Fortunately I am aware of some sort of kids TV show but have never seen it therefore even if I did meet PC Plod I wouldn't know! :giggle:

More than toes wet now!
I played golf at Tobermory Golf Club which is a great way to combine golf and hillwalking.
and you need to make sure you pre-book a tee-off time as it can get absolutely mobbed!:whistle2:

Hi Mel..
If you do end up on mull I can recommend a stop at uisken beach.. lovely location ..no facilities but worth a day or two for the peace and quiet..
If you need a site with a few facilities while you are in that area there is one at fidden farm.. and again if you are in that area a trip from finonnphort over to ioana is a must..
We had a brilliant few days paddling out of uisken and a little circumnavigation of ioan..
Enjoy if you go..
Andy..

I didn't 'get' Mull at all.

It was ok, Tobermory was cute. The campsite was ok but probably wilding is possible. The roads were narrow and twisty.

Only stayed one night and crossed back to the mainland.

Oban was nice with a lovely CC campsite, North Ledaig, right on the water's edge.
We are with you Janine.
We crossed over and literally drove most of Mull in a day.
The roads over the back are some of the narrowest we encountered in Scotland.
Tobermory for the photos. Calgary is a lovely bay.
We did Kilchoan to Tobermory and Bailemeonach to Lochaline.
Steep ramps on and off the ferries and at Kilchoan they had to use small ramps to stop us grounding and we are not a big van.
I think it’s probably a marmite place.

Pick a time to avoid cruise ships. They spoil the picture!

I have fond memories of cycle camping on the west of Scotland including some of the islands. Mull looked lovely (Tobermory), even though we were soaked through, dried out and got re-soaked. We were almost eaten alive by the wee midgies when it wasn't raining.

We had a wonderful night camping in a small tent on a beach on Iona in beautiful weather. (50p for a tent and 2 people with two bikes!) A great memory.

Really glad to see Brendon and Alison still running Glenforse, Brendon took me up in his Belgium Cub and got me to start for my PPL. We stayed many times in the 2000s as I chased Otters around the Island.
Flew in twice after gaining PPL before work got in the way.

Their Scallops dishes were to die for, we must get back to visit them before they retire. Thanks RMPS for reminding me to add them to our new bucket list 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
