Last year changed to NFU MoHo insurance.

This year added my Audi A4 Allroad and almost halved the premium compared to my renewal quote from Saga. 14k miles per annum and full no claims with business use and 3 drivers.

2nd vehicles can be a good deal with NFU and worth checking.

They could not better Saga on the wife’s mini though and were £100 more.

We have the Flair a 3 litre 3 series BMW and a Smart roadster with them for just over £800 but they couldn't touch Bennets on the scooter, might try the house again next years and not mention the value of the watches this time.

The positive comments on this forum lead me to NFU. The quote I got was about £200 more than many others. The lady on the phone admitted that they are not the cheapest.

When I first got my NFU quote the agent warned me they were sometimes not the cheapest on first year insurance, because they didn’t discount new business and then stuff it up in the following years. However, it was a good price so I was happy to accept it. I have subsequently added my car to the policy and made another saving. Now about to get a price for adding my wife’s car too.

The cheapest they may not be, but if it ever comes to claim time they are very good. :gum:

The other thing with NFU being a mutual you get a "divi" which is taken off in your renewal , they are also very good on changing details without charge , and covering very short term for vehicle collection etc , not to mention hassle free and efficient claim management . They are not always cheapest , and will not offer cover depending on postcode. Waste of time for motorcycles , which they will tell you from start :)

It gets cheaper the longer you stay with them. Certainly not the cheapest but then they didn't want an alarm and tracker fitted by a Company with a Vat Number even though it was well over £70,000. The young ladies comment was it was cheap compared with a Tractor or Harvester. We have had a claim for a windscreen all paperwork sorted in a couple of hours.

Just remember they don't offer breakdown cover over 3.5t or5.5 mtrs long, only accident cover as I was told recently, so that has to be taken into consideration as well.
Cheers, Dave(y)

We're with NFU. However, I was disappointed the other day when I found out that they no longer offer fully comprehensive cover in Croatia.

NFU sent me an email last July informing me that, despite only third party being available in the past, they would now insure fully comprehensive in Croatia for a small fee. It transpires that this information was given in error.

We had planned to travel to Croatia this year and I'm glad we changed our minds. I feel that they should have informed their customer that Croatian cover was no longer available as I heard about it on the grapevine. It would have thrown our plans out as we wouldn't risk travelling without full cover.

I have my new carthago with them it was cheaper than anyone else and no tracker or cat 1 required

I am just adding my ifor Williams tipper trailer to the policy now

Including covering cost of transferring private no plate

In my new car 03/01/18

And that was because dealer couldn’t get car sorted over the new year

Perhaps worth cross checking with a different NFU office. They are individually franchised and I get the impression that some of them are not interested in any motorhome business, whilst others are very happy to help. You don’t have to do it through your local office. I have been dealing with Christian Brown at the Brockenhurst office 01590 624744 who has been very helpful.

The NFU at Llandudno would not quote due to the amount of day's we are out of the UK. I asked for 270 days to cover our usual winter preamble. I may try again when we get home.

Possibly not their specialist area. “I need 6 months European cover for my tractor and trailer because I will have to take my cows with me”. :)

Try the Chichester branch. I asked specifically if there were time restrictions whilst away and there weren't. The branches vary a lot in what they'll offer.

They don't insist on alarms or trackers which is quite a saving. Not only in getting them fitted but the ongoing costs as well.

We have had a claim for an A Class windscreen. All sorted in a couple of hours.

I don't understand why they told you that I am with the NFU and there is no limit on how much time I spend abroad it's unlimited I even phoned and double checked and was told no limit

Again don't know why my postcode is DE13 and they cover me no issues

Which companies offer full insurance for Croatia?

Did you ask why? Is it just a post code issue? I am in Yorkshire, their office is in Lincolnshire??
Yes I did ask why as I live in a considered safe area but no reason given ,just is.this was for a car the motor home insured with comfort £55000 is under £300pa but the car value £2000 would be £400 so still looking.

My Derbyshire post code is a Sheffield one. S18. Could be a reason?

Do comfort cover you for unlimited time abroad?
Does it cover Croatia?

Not sure but do not think so
