We are currently en route to Wales from Gloucester but have realised that the chances of arriving by 7 are getting thin due to traffic! It'sour first trip away with the MH and a bit anxious about where we could go if we can't get on site at pembrey. Any suggestions?

There's the Caravan Club site on right next to entry gate to the country park try the wardens on 01554 83436

• Know that there is overnight parking at Burry Port harbour at £7 night but may be a late to get in there now - navigating to the site initially follow signs to the Harbour from the main road (A484), then follow the LONG STAY parking signs ignoring the brown caravan signs.
• Also in Burry Port there is the Shoreline Caravan Park - mostly statics but has some touring pitches 01554 832657
• If you explain your position then sure one of these will help find somewhere but if not then wild camp
• Good luck - know what it's like when you are new & things don't go exactly to plan!

Just thought of a good wild camping spot - when you can see the entry gates to the park & before the CC site on your right there is a roughish gravel car parking on the left used by locals who then walk into the park Wish we were there this weekend - great place & you are assured of a warm welcome as know there will some lovely Funsters that we have met before there.

Thank you so much guys! As it happens, the park are keeping the gates open until 10 tonight, so we were able to get in and join the party! So relieved! My earlier sacrifices to the gods of the Motorhomers were not in vain!!

Just returned from the Pembrey meet. Our first meet with the funsters. Thoroughly enjoyed it. really made to feel welcome. many thanks to all who had anything to do with organising it. Definitely coming again.

I really don't want to say this cos I feel this should be kept a closely guarded secret, but we've just been to one of the nicest meets of the year..

Lovely friendly smiley people, an amazing spread of Funster donated food, walks on the beach and through the forest and falling asleep to a lullaby of welsh voices singing Delilah, topped off with typical welsh weather...hot sunshine.

A massive thank you to Chris, Liz, Ed and Shirley for organising with such a light touch an amazing time.

A shout out to the new Funsters Gerri, Ron, Cath and Malcolm and all the usual suspects! Thanks for the laughs and chats, but you all could of tried harder to eat that jar of pickles!

We really enjoyed ourselves, hope to go again. Safe travels fellow Funsters.

Finally got home, later than expected due to major traffic hitches. Had the most amazing time, meeting fantastic people in a superb location! Thank you so much to Chris and Liz, Ed and Shirley and everyone else who helped to make it such a brilliant weekend (especially Dawn and Martin for taking us under their wing!) Can't wait to do it all again!

Have to say thanks to Chris, Liz, (glad to see you are on the mend) Ed and Shirley for setting up this meet in such a fabulous venue.
Being our first proper Funster meet we were a bit nervous. This was completely unnecessary as we were greeted with open arms to a really friendly meet. We have never experienced an American Table before but look forward to the next one. The food that the Funsters concocted was nothing short of magnificent!!!!
