Looking for something to secure the Adblue tank on our motorhome having seen reports of ones being tampered with & thinking about having it manufactured in stainless steel found that now the German manufacturer of this https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...tion-deflector-for-winter-motorhoming.189086/ now also make the BlueSafe (y) It's available in blue, grey & yellow on ebay.de http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/707-5...2&toolid=10001&campid=&icep_item=202854854890 or on amazon.de Amazon product ASIN B082P74P3P slightly cheaper if buying just one & black option too. For Paypal we already have our zero rated credit card to pay in Euros but had to add it to our Amazon Germany account but easy enough especially if you right click on the web page & Translate to English.

Sure some Funsters will have ideas of how to make DIY versions too - if so please post here as it would be good to have more options.

Whilst I have a locking diesel filler cap I didn't expect to have my ad blue syphoned off, never heard of any ad blue thefts. The filler tube is particularly narrow but assume a thin syphon tube would probably fit but never tried it. Max capacity of my blue tank is 15 litres I think. So on average may only contain half of that. I think I would risk that than having the filler cap ripped open.

It's not to prevent theft of cheap Adblue but to prevent addition of other substances which could cause costly damage.

I am baffled, apart from someone who holds a grudge, why would that even happen?

Are they really needed?

Have read reports on Facebook groups in France & Germany of that happening (could be a myth though?) & the fact that a few people are manufacturing versions of these & selling them in substantial numbers gives us a reason to buy one but won't be for everyone. There have been lockable Adblue replacement caps for lorry tanks for some time. As mentioned above - if someone could come up with a cheaper DIY motorhome version then that would be even better as the BlueSafe isn't a cheap option.

The mind boggles.

Thanks for the reply.

Perhaps the maker has sent some Scruggs around to nick your blue so that would start a rumour to drum up business ?

What an incredibly selfish thread. Demonstrating a complete disregard for less fortunate folk who don't have or can't afford an adblue devouring vehicle.

:getmecoat:

:LOL::LOL::LOL:
I have similar thoughts when I read the morelo threads, but not about the adblu!!??

Our BlueSafe arrived today & first impressions are good - it's very strong & looks neat but won't know how well it fits until we wake up our Summit up from winter hibernation

Here's ours in black

Wombles From the images it looks from the surface as though it may have been 3D printed rather than injection moulded?
Is the rear face flat?

My Ad Blu filler is under the bonnet unfortunately - a 2 person job to fill from the 10 litre container due to the A Class design. I really wish they had put it somewhere else

I would say they would be about £10 each including postage. What do the do

if you send me all the dimensions as accurately as possible i will draw it up in CAD

Is this on Fiat or Mercedes out of interest.

Bearing in mind this would be plastic, its not really a supper secure solution. There is a steel one available on the market. Would this not be a more secure solution. I am more than willing to design and print it in plastic if people are interested. Anyone who would like one let me know. My brother has a late Ducato that I can measure up.
Cheers Paul and Chrissy

Sorry- hijacking the thread! Would Paul and Chrissy be interested in printing these sun visor spacers and if so, how much per set?
Many thanks
Jon

Hi
I will not use someone’s CAD files from thingyverse as resale using their files is not ethical. I can however design the spacers myself and print them for you. Do you want a specific thickness of spacer or just the same as the pictures. Can you let me know the purpose of the spacers so I can ensure the design fulfils the criteria. The design work is free. It doesn’t affect the printing cost.

Just been researching these spacers And there purpose. They will fit all X250 & 290 models apparently.
Including all longer stainless steel screws to fit with 15mm spacing I could make the kits for £12.50 per side + p&p. Will need a little time to design it in CAD and test on my own van.

Cheers Paul and Chrissy.

Hi Paul and Chrissy - that would be great! I'll have two sets when they're available- no rush, we can't go anywhere at the moment! At least we'll be able to swing the blind fully down over the remis frame, does anybody know if they'll also allow the blind to swing to the side to shade the side window?
Many thanks,
Jon
