Hi,

Does anyone recognise this remote which was lying loose in my new motorhome when I picked it up? The 'van is a Laika on Ducato.

I've tried it on just about every electronic device in the 'van to no avail! The vertical buttons are labelled (from the top) "Video Select, Menu and Mode Select. The other two buttons are direction arrows.

The dealer has no idea either.

All help gratefully received!

Brand new van or "new to you" ??
It looks very much like one that you get with a portable dvd player. So if the van is used maybe someone just lost / left it there..
Or does the built in radio have dvd facility.

It is the same as the one we have for the cab radio.. but they proly use them for all sorts as it is a common type

It's a brand new 'van. No DVD player, and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the radio. Reversing camera sounds like a possibility. I'll report back when I've tried it.

Thanks everyone.

If you've ever tried to raise the driver's seat on an X250/290 while sitting on it, you'll find it's already equipped with a very efficient manual ejector seat!

Same remote as I have for my rear view camera monitor.

We've got a similar one for our rear view monitor.

Thanks guys, the general consensus was correct, it's for the reversing camera monitor. I assume that the monitor is a generic one which is used for many other purposes, as I can't think of any obvious reason why you would need a remote for a reversing camera.

Anyway, thanks again.

Ours switches modes so that it only works when reverse gear is selected or can be on continuously in the other mode

Its the monitor that needs the remote, not the camera itself, it is possible to do stuff on some monitors but easier with the remote.

Yep, we found out after 2 years that it was for the camera monitor. Handy, as we were complaining that we didn't have the "box" on the screen when reversing - we have now :D
