You won't get much change of scenery in a static 🤣
I know there are some lovely ones, but when I drive along the A55 north Wales expressway and see site after site with statics neatly lined up next to each other it makes me appreciate being able to go wherever I feel like 😀

Make sure before you do so that you know exactly what the terms of purchase and sale are, as well as if you have to replace them due to age, and all the other hidden 'nasties' ... reading between the lines it seems as though you like loosing money on MHs but the loss you make on a static will likely be a hell of a lot more ... be careful.

What Minxy Girl said.

I used to frequent a caravan forum when I towed one. There were some horror stories of terrible contracts on sites for statics. You could only use their maintenance services, only their decking suppliers, their gas suppliers. All vans had to be less than 10 years old, you could only sell to the site after, you could only buy via the site and the list went on.

Then on one the yearly charge virtually doubled with no option but to either suck it up or sell back to the site at a huge huge loss.

It actually made motorhomes seem cheap, so it must have been eye watering. 😁

That is the antithesis of what we are looking for, but thanks for the advice

The other option was going back to “tugging” but thats a none starter

I sold mine cheshirecat57 and still miss it,had a hymer caravan for a while, but it wasnt the same ,i look on ebay all the time to keep up to date with prices etc, i hope you enjoy your static, id like to sell up and live in one but theres no parcels of land for sale anymore ,cheers pampam

Have you thought of getting a large caravan and putting it on a seasonal pitch instead? That way if you get fed up of a site after a few years you can easily move it to another without all the extra expense/hassle of a static.

Believe it or not, might do that AS WELL

Why not try it first, that way you can see if you like the 'static' life before you commit to a permanent one.

Sorry to hear you are quitting MHoming. We need more 'Cheshirecats', even if this one lives in Poland.

I had wondered how long we can go on being close to 80, but then I just got my Polish C1 which has 5 years before renewal, and we have just done a trip driving down from Poland to Greece and 3 weeks on a Greek island(leaving MH in storage). Wonderful 5 weeks.

So no giving up in sight for us.

Good luck with new project.

That's what we are in the process of doing, we are off to Spain in September to find a site. We sold the 1997 Hymer for £16k and bought a truly fabulous, unmarked, Fleetwood Heritage 560-4 caravan for £4500! I've spent £500 on new bits, reinforced the dodgy floor, and Jan made some new cushions for the lounge. Spent £650 on a two year old Isabella Dawn awning (£2400 new), and new decals completed the transformation.
Lots of cash left over to spend on holidays...
We have just spent ten days in it and loved it. The separate single beds in the rear are a real game changer!
Yes, I know this is a motorhome forum but...
