i bought a cubot phone when i dropped my phone, up to date android and a good price from amazon - check no taxes apply though now ..

There are a lot of mobile phone repair shops in the high streets, probably not open, but worth contacting.

put a screen cover over it and use as normal . You won’t even notice the crack when the screen is illuminated .

I don't know about this particular phone but I had a new screen and battery in a iPhone a few months back, iirc it was £70. It was repaired by a bloke that used to work for Apple who now works from home, click and collect.

Samsung A20e only £150 new. personally wouldn't bother with the insurance - might you premium increase if you claim

You see these videos of people walking along with phone held out in front of them having a vid-natter then a cyclist/scooterist whizzing past & grabbing the phone!
Mine very rarely comes out of my pocket when out & about!

Not heard of this phone before.
Always had Galaxy

I've started playing a little game, when people are coming towards you on their phones (like everybody) accidentally on purpose walk/bump into them. The reactions are priceless. T@@t's.
Have you not heard? We are supposed to be social Distancing,,,BUSBY.

Get a blackview rugged phone, water proof , drop proof, blah blah.
Various models starting form about 100 quid.

Ive gone through Iphones, samsungs, £500, 600 800 900 +

this one £179.00 unblocked and sim free.

I sat throwing round the room with my 7 year old nephew when drunk one night last year...not a scratch. Dropped it off the top of my flat roof, no problem.
They are a bit chunky but jeez they are tough

Check the screen sizes. Some models have much bigger screens
I’m in the apple ecosystem and have an iPhone 12 Pro.....I only suggested it as they get reasonable recommendations for a low price and it being discounted to £89 too.

and the screen is bigger than the 7......if your into that sort of thing.

Or a similar phone...
Plus, they might buy your broken one and if you opt for store credit, you may get it even cheaper. You "should" be able to get everything back if you can recall your various accounts and passwords.

A variation on that theme...I stand perfectly still in their way

We've had various Xiaomi phones, hubby currently has a Redmi 7 and I have a Redmi 9 (don't bother with the Redmi 8 as it's reviews aren't great as it's a bit of a cobble together between the 2).

I'm not into phones rally but I have to say I love my Redmi 9 which has the following spec:

Dual sim
6.53 inch Quad

Rear Camera with 3 lenses
4GB RAM
64GB ROM
5020mAh
Helio G80 Octa core
4G Smartphone

On offer here at the moment which is a good price IMV:

Yes ... but ... my Mum has an old ZTE flip phone, it's a lovely thing, very well built, cosmetically very swish looking and 'feels' nice in use however it would drive me mad if I had to use it all the time.

I've just got her a Three contract sim to replace her Three PAYG one and have spent a while sorting it out, transferring her contacts, photos etc, and setting up the new sim ... it has taken AGES ... and I mean AGES! If it had been a smart phone I could've just plugged it into my laptop (or using the wifi on the phone itself) and it would have been much easier. With it only having a number keypad doing texts etc is a nightmare, although Mum has it down to a fine art, but it takes a lot longer to do even so.

So whilst you can get a basic phone to simply do phone calls if you want to text and use the internet they can be a real pain.
