Hunting around for the best price for Agilis Camping CP 225 x 75 x R16 x 116/118.

Best price I can find is Kwik-fit at £638 all inc.

Vehicle currently fitted with metal valves; Kwik-Fit only replave 'normal' valves but replace the valve cores on metal valves.

Is this normal practice ?
Anyone had a better deal this month ?

Cheers 'n' Beers

Black circles, Michelin cross climates all weather £636 for 4 ( national tyres)

I ordered my tyres (CrossClimates) from Oponeo - £444 delivered.
Then paid a local place to fit them (£40 all in)

I can’t see a problem with just replacing the metal valve inserts.

Why not get some decent tyres, I've got Agilis Camping tyres on my van only part warn but going to change them, worse tyres I've ever had. Biggest problem with them is lack of grip causing traction to constantly cut in on wet roads and gravel.

Out of interest, what are you going with?

I spent way too long deciding. Head said CrossClimates, heart wanted more AT. Head won :)

Thinking about Kumho Winter Portran CW5, Cross Climates appear to be popular but I'm so off Michelin after my experience with the camping ones.

We have had Agillas camping tyres full sets twice but was disappointed with them the walls cracked the tread was no diffent to others, and the much cheaper ones run just as well with a lot less road noise.

Hi Lenny, are these not just for winter use and therefore, the softer compound will not wear well with summer use?

Just booked kwik fit to change 2 fronts, van came 11 years ago with bridgestone 623 light truck tyres. They've done 40k still have 4mm of tread left but changing due to age. Going with bridgestone 660 as 623 no longer available about £95 each.

On last van I changed all to Hankook winter tyres. Best thing I ever did . & yes ran all year on them with no problems even in spanish temperatures . Will be changing this one to them as well.
I found the Michelin agilis were noisy as Carol said

Because of the higher pressure the tyres run at and the weight on them I believe you need metal valves. Can't they just leave the ones you have on?

Hi all, got my agilis tyres from mytyres online, then booked them fitted at local national tyres depot which they have a deal with. Also bought 4 steel valves from internet and had them fitted at same time. No problems other than national tyres can only inflate to 50psi under H&S rules but worked out really well. Regards

Other Funsters have reported they wear well and are fine in summer. As long as I get 2 -3 years out of a set I'll be happy, just want some grip.

If they are quoting H&S why did they let you drive off with grossly under inflated tyres.

Hi, because H&S is about workplace safety and does not impinge on Road Traffic Law, what I actually did was to take my tyre inflator with me and further inflated them before driving off, but an odd situation nevertheless.

Regards

Had agillis tyres , but never again. wore out on the front after 20000km. Changed over to continental van tyres.very pleased.

…………………..and I have used Michelin tyres for years and have a full set Agilis on our Chausson camping car. I absolutely love Michelin tyres. I would not swop them for any other brand.

Many hundreds of thousands of miles 90% of which were Michelins and never a problem.

Seriously 😳

They are sending you out in under inflated tyres.
Bet that would be interesting if it went to court.

Wonder if the do the same after they’ve fitted truck tyres?

We've got continental vanco camper tyres fitted very quiet good grip and get good reviews

Probably worth noting that the Vanco camper tyres are only recommended to 5 bar whereas Fiat and Michelin often require 5.5 bar irrespective of axle weights. It wouldn't particularly bother me but could give insurers some wriggle room.

Ditto...just removed the Agilis from my Tag A Class after bulging and cracking....and fitted Nexen Roadian CT8 Commercial tyres...stronger construction than the Michelins...and ride much much better....love them.....oh and half the price and at six a go that certainly adds up....to be honest though even if the same price I would still choose them over the Michelins..

No problem with cracking just the appalling grip, hard ride & high wear rate.

Really surprised at this - I changed mine when I bought the van last Nov due to age. Tyres we're presumably originals at date mark 2010, but no appreciable cracking and wear was pretty minimal for a 19k mile 4.25 tonne moho. It was a bit wrenching to bin them but a 10 years old they'd had a good life.

My fronts were down to 4.5mm at 14000 miles when the van was 18 months old, now 25k I have been swapping the fronts around with spare and the wear rate seems to have slowed, but lack of the grip is why I'm changing them also no snowflake rating.
