I havnt read all the threads on this topic but would like to add my penny worth having fitted this on or mh and having to run a 12v cable too I can say it has been great mainly for the dog also to vent when cooking. So after having it now for a few years be wary of the cover sticking when opening as this will break the mechanism, to over come this lube the rubbers also I keep mine open all year round even now in Wales with the wind blowing over 40mph I still keep it open. Also the smoked top has started to craze like fine cracks in.. I asl never screwed this to the motorhome as I didn't want to put yet more holes into the roof so stuck it down with sikaflex and to this day is fine.. if you wanner laugh I did a YouTube of this and it took me longer than most ppl on here did but then I'm no DIY expert
