We take the motorhome out once or twice a week and apart from that it sits happily on the drive (depreciating) with 150w solar panel, battery master and two hab batteries. The question is, if I leave it with electric hook up connected when not in use, is this beneficial or does it deteriorate the batteries and is it safe to leave it on. Nothing is switched on in MH so not much electricity used.

If the charger is the modern 'smart' charger then leave it on. It will only give as much charge as called for.
If its the old anologue charger put it on for one day in fourteen.
You could do the same with the smart charger... It won't do any harm.
If you want mains all the time simply turn off the charger at the consumer unit.

Isn't your solar panel setup working then?

I have mine on a timer, currently with the Xmas lights. Would it be good to continue with this after Xmas, without the lights. We don't have any solar panels, yet. Also very New to MHs.?

Just leave the cable hooked up and flip the switch on for one day every week or two .won't do no harm if left a bit longer or shorter..I can't be bothered to keep unwinding and winding the cable up so just leave it in..then if I remember I turn the power on now and then

i hook our up for the winter and just turn trip the mains every few days for a day.

Leave ours hooked up and on all the time we are not using it, it's a 2003 MoHo and never had a problem, the charger just trickle charges all the time. The battery is 3 years old and the one it replaced was six years old and only replaced to increase the capacity from 90ah to 110ah.

Don't see the point of hook up if you have solar, we ran 2 leisurebatteries and the vehicle battery on a 100watt solar panel rain hail and snow. kept batteries topped up fine. In storage with alarm and tracker.

Ours is on EHU all the time t home. We have a dehumidifier running.

I leave ours on continually whilst it's parked up. The CBE smart charger does it job well. When we are away I leave a Ctek charger permanently connected to the car battery. Again it does no harm, only good.
