Not got bottles it's a fixed tank, but read somewhere that outside Madrid for example you could be struggling to fill up.

There' are lots of lpg outlets available in spain, you should not have any issues. Worst case is that you get a bottle of local gas, cheap, and connect it to your fill point.

Careful planning will enable you to top up as you are travelling, search for Apps that list LPG filling options, Garages etc....no shortage in Spain, there are 5 or 6 local to me here in Murcia.

I use myLPG.eu from Google, it's never let me down.
Ditto that. There’s an app and a website for this. I’ve used it frequently and very successfully in Spain and Greece. Italy is different as they’re very strict about only filling you up if it’s used for propulsion not heating or cooking. We have Gaslow bottles but fill through a port in the skirt of the van, so it looks like it’s going into a tank, not bottles. Even so we couldn’t get gas in Italy.

Loads of lpg stations in Spain, I use the app Mylpg.eu for locations. You will need adaptors to fill though. Some stations have them, but best to buy your own.

LPG pumps have increased a lot Over the last few years.
Bear in mind the further south you go the the butane in the mix will be higher (up to 65%), best to fill up in the mountains to get a high propane ratio.

You can often get Spanish bottles from people leaving but if not garages that supply bottles have a form called a gas contract which allowed you to hire a bottle.

And I should stop calling you Shirley!

Yes this is the hose that connects to the fill point..

You need a "jumbo" Spanish type bottle connector (no regulator) too, which is further down the page 👍

Ah I see. So it doesnt transfer to the refillable bottle, it runs through it and stays connected?

It just evaporates vapour into the system as you use it at full bottle pressure. If you don't use all the liquid before you have to disconnect, then you've got no gas again. Unless you try and tip the liquid in out of the bottle... But last time I mentioned that it started an argument so I'm not mentioning that 🤔 🤐🤭

Edit : oops 😏

Yes it works, you just need a Spanish jumbo adaptor and a hose which you can buy from gasit or gaslow.you need one of your bottles to be empty.just connect the Spanish repsol bottle to your inlet fill point and turn on.the Spanish bottle just sits by your van.a 15 kg repsol bottle costs around 14 euros.

No,please don't do that it can be dangerous.for the cost of the Spanish gas it's really not worth it plus trying to tip liquid gas into your system can gunge it up.

Even in Italy we found it relatively easy to fill up with lpg especially on the autostradas. Only 1 garage wouldn't fill our tank (even though it's filler is in the skirt not in the locker with the 14kg bottle). We went to the next garage and filled it with no problems at all. We crossed the width of Italy (along the Po Valley to Bari).

It can only be as dangerous as filling up at the pumps. The van system is designed to take liquid LPG in.

Your not using it as designed when supplying it with vapour.
