My usual garage for lpg, between Bournemouth and Southampton, hasn't had lpg for over 3 weeks - they say it's due to lorry driver shortages and that they are apparently prioritising domestic heating customers. The next nearest, in Bournemouth, hasn't any at the moment either. Is there a general shortage of lpg or is it just in this area as we are planning to go away next weekend and our tank is all but empty.

Yes there is a general shortage.

I think Flogas are the main supplier for Autogas, as Calor abandoned the market when their partnership with Shell gave out in 2020. Flogas have a big notice on their site (as do Calor) apologising for delays and stating they are prioritising their bulk customers for heating / cooking such as hospitals and homes. Autogas is a long way down the list.

There are some stations showing LPG available around Salisbury area ,depends where you are going. Check the lpg apps on your intended route.
Filllpg and autogas

Thats bad news. Flogas are terrible, speaking as a just leaving home bulk tank customer.

go away next weekend and our tank is all but empty.
Thus the reason why we always but always stop on way home from trip and fill up so we are full for next trip....Also we never drive by an Autogas pump and not stop to top up even if only a few quid.
In Reply to your query... Yes there does seem to be a shortage but would appear to affect some areas more than others.

I'm just parked next to this fella at RAF Coningsby, I wonder if he'd miss a few litres of lpg ?

No there isn’t a general shortage this has been mentioned may times recently. It is only down South. We have three LPG pumps near us and all have gas.
Have you been by the pump this morning in Keighley as when we went to morrisons yesterday the lpg pumps were locked off. Jet garage had none either don’t know about texaco garage though as that’s usually dodgy.

The Texaco had it yesterday. I don’t use Morrison’s as it’s the other side of town. Jet had it last week as I saw a motorhome filling up. Whilst I was out on the bike.

As do we, but last time our local garage was out of gas. they have been out of gas previously but only for a few days - never before for a whole month. We'll fill up en-route at every opportunity from now on even if we think our local garage has stock

And you can't get much further south than we are - unless you go west when eventually you would. We'll head north then!

We just had a Gaslow conversion done on recent purchase due to the number of stories about touring in France.
Our 'local' Murco near Cranbrook, Kent say they are often running short and advised calling before driving there. mylpg.eu seems to be a good site - though there is a surprisingly (to me anyway) small number of Autogas pumps in the UK.

Everything revolves around money, if there was money in having more lpg pumps then they would have them, can’t be enough demand to make it pay

Familiar looking car park, that.... Many around? We had a great couple of hours there a couple of weeks ago, including some awesomely loud performance takeoffs

Some good displays earlier today including one Typhoon take off with afterburners lit, then vertical ascent 😮 very impressive.
But I think the fellas have knocked early being Friday, no activity now.

Well, it is the RAF and it is Friday afternoon; mess parties to organise, 5 star hotels to check out, pianos to burn you know

That's good to know as I intended to pop down with the m/h tomorrow as I noticed that the LPG sign (99.7p I think it said) was illuminated when I came past there in the car a couple of hours ago.
I suppose they might have just had a delivery............

Just seen this morning that our nearest Morrisons (Anlaby near Hull) is out of gas. Have been meaning to go and top up for weeks. Serves me right for putting it off.
Reading these post and thought, I wonder if Morrisons on Springfield Way has gas, i must get some ready for the hols, then read your post, plus and I'm the same as you was going last week and didn't:(

I thought we we had run out last weekend so we had tea and breakfast out to use our dregs for heating. Managed to fill up at our local BP garage this week (they were empty when we went for fuel). Turns out my second bottle was full but the gauge for the back bottle is hard to read looked empty! Got two full bottles now which will do us fine.

2 of the 3 lpg garage pumps were locked off in our town as at 8.30am this morning managed to get some at the texaco garage at 79.9pl still dodgy was coming out at 1p per second! Glad we weren’t in a great hurry managed to have a natter to several people filling their cars 😂 still we now have full tanks and the sun is shining so a slow meander up to Scotland

Liz

Still have a pump and working today 82.9ppl Morrisons, Baxter's Lane, St.Helens. The Local Guide section entry updated, as was mylpg.eu site.
