We have filled in spain in feb and had a cylinder of lpg that wont gas off on cold morning using the heater. This was when cylinder was down to 25% full.Filled up in zcrance 3½ weeks ago €0.90.
Going to have to fill up I. Spain or France in the next couple of days adound €0.80 in Spain. This time of year and we are on the edge of the Pyrenees so shouldn't be too much butane in the mix.

Do they have a winter mix for lpg as they do diesel?
Yes, exactly what happened to us. In winter in spain it can be 65% propane 35% butane, so spend to long in a cold area and you will burn off the propane leaving the butane which wont gas off.I don’t think we need a winter mix in the UK because ours is all propane. I believe some countries mix butane in with propane. In cold weather the propane element continues to evaporate but the butane gets left behind and when there is only butane left it will only work in warmer conditions.
I got this from a an outdoors site explaining why mixed propane/butane canisters stop working in cold weather despite still having liquid gas in them. Different equipment but the principle is the same.
“Among these is the fact that the propane will burn off at a disproportionate rate in sub-freezing temperatures. As the remaining mixture shifts increasingly toward butane, less and less fuel vaporizes until eventually the canister pressure drops too low to continue feeding the stove. This means that a brand new fuel canister may work for a while in sub-freezing conditions, but can stop working long before the canister is empty.”
I missed the edit and the link. I was probably in full flow by then.Yes, exactly what happened to us. In winter in spain it can be 65% propane 35% butane, so spend to long in a cold area and you will burn off the propane leaving the butane which wont gas off.
Figures for different countries are in link in post 7.
Mix varies for time of year & area, same with France, Portugal is like the UK 95% propane. We have filled in spain in feb and had a cylinder of lpg that wont gas off on cold morning using the heater. This was when cylinder was down to 25% full.

Edit, yes they do
As a full-timer... I do too..Must admit I usually just fill up regardless of price, if I see a fill Point available and I need gas I fill
