Bought this ultrasonic gas depth gauge from amazon (America) for my refillable LPG system for around £90 all taxes paid. It came last week took 10 minutes to fit it and it’s taken all the guesswork out of how much is left in the tanks. I’m finding I’m using the app for the quite precise percentage readings it gives instead of the light system it came with. Peace of mind whilst we’re away in the cold weather using loads of gas = no range anxiety!

Been about some time now £90 sounds a bit expensive though??
EDIT : not expensive as Gasit at £54 for one?

Bought two sensors and the monitor unit for that. Though not using the monitor as the app is so easy. Think it was about £60 for the two sensors ?

£90 to see how much gas you have ? what's wrong with opening the door and looking at your gauges ?

we don’t have gauges on ours

and we depend on manual bottle change over, would be really nice to know we were down to low % before going to bed, rather than mid early am when the Alde alerts gas out ? as it always seems to do ??

Most Don`t have Gauges. Or any other means for that matter. Taking them out and weighing them is the only other way, an empty 6Kg Calor weighs in at around 4kg If I remember? I did weigh several some years back to see. I only had a Gauge on my Fixed R-V Tank.

This device pops up every now and then on here.

Has anyone decided on the best/cheapest place to buy out of interest ?

I believe that Gas-it did a deal with Mopeka to become the sole UK distributor as several other former UK suppliers have been saying they no longer have them for sale.
I bought mine direct from Mopeka sometime ago.

I thought "sole agency" agreements where no longer "valid" in law?.

Gas-it appear to be selling their own badged looking clone of the Mopeka. ?

I suggest you check that precision before you trust it absolutely. You can compare how much gas you refill with to what the app says. Or let one tank run out and see if the app matches this. Then try the other tank to prove that.

We have a 2 Gaslow system and just fill up when the first bottle runs out, or if we are going away for a longish holiday fill up before we go. Gas is cheaper in UK than in France.

Changed to refillable bottles after running out of gas and the fridge alarm coming on at 3am on a cold and frosty morning. The first step was auto changeover valve!

It seems about right. Not too accurate when low, around 10% it was initially giving spurious readings, but good enough to know that if one is down to empty and the other below 50%, time to start thinking about refilling.
