A lot of you will have met Lola, many will have been leant on, or if particularly liked had your foot sat on , hang on to your memories, they can not be repeated, today we said good bye to her
When we rescued her 10 ago then 12 months old, we checked out the breed and found they lived for 7-9 years, seemed too far away to even contemplate then, but then at our 8th year together we knew it couldn't go on forever, that was 2 years ago and even till a few weeks ago she still looked the same as when we got her
She suddenly got a lot slower and last night we knew something more serious had happened but needed the vets to confirm, booked in today and initially they felt it was acute arthritis and much boosted meds would help, but it wouldn't be for long. But they were quiet in the surgery and the vet suggested an ultrasound on her heart 'just to check'
This identified masses of fluid around her heart that shouldn't be there, operable but not right given all other factors, so we rapidly swung from new meds a few more months hopefully, to, we did discuss this and we cant put her though anything more
A set of circumstance that all 'fell right' making the decision easy and right, just cant tell my tear ducts that right now
So, it's bye from Lola to all those she met and all those who met her by default through photos on here
God we will miss her
Lola has covered every single motor homing mile that we have, visited 14 countries with us and will continue to do so in our memories
Bye my lovely x
