Is the LNB skew important to allow Oyster Vision to lock into a particular satellite? In other words if the LNB skew is not quite there, would it stop the oyster system from locking into the satellite? Or is it purely the stores frequencies which allow the system to locks onto a particular satellite.

I always thought the LNB skew is to get a better signal quality.

Have not used one for a few years but to me it was only a minor adjustment that it made to the signal, in Spain it was about 12deg. clockwise but it should not stop you locking on if the signal is there to be found.

First time I used the satellite dish in Spain I had no idea about skew and whilst it would lock on, didn't get any programmes.

Then a Funster pointed out my problem, got his ladder out and did it for me. After that brilliant HD all the way down to Agadir in Morocco.

Until the Beeb reduced the footprint.
