Leisure Batteries

Hi All

I am looking to replace my Banner Leisure batteries on a 2019 Fiat Ducato as they are not good. Thinking of trying 2 Exide ES900 Gel batteries, I understand that I would have to set the CBE battery charger and Solar controller over to Gel , is there anything that has to be done with the alternator, I don't think it's a smart version, not stop/start

Not a lot you can do with a 'dumb' alternator but the solar and hookup charge regime will charge fully at the higher voltage anyway

I changed ours to the ES900 exide gel, it's been OK with the existing dumb alternator

Actually no alternators can talk so they're all "dumb".... Ours is actually a thick alternator then

Good I think, only got the one and it's got plenty of capacity for us, even with the TV on half the night. Bought it in July 2019.
