On and off for many years.
scotzsue you should also have a squishy from me any day :)

My friend has been given a load of fleecy garment rejects and is going to give me a couple to see if I can do anything with them. She is thinking of adding collars and zips to make into light jackets but we will see. She has a shop that sells Army Surplus - shut at the moment of course - but still selling online.

It’s supposed to be a rabbit but I think he looks more like a dog!
I made him from the Aldi baby wool and he’s really soft and squishy. He stands about 2ft tall.

I'm a newbie
Morning. I've been spending most of my time on a patchwork quilt when I've not been working but made this as a birthday present for my son. I'm more used to crocheting blankets, so this seemed really fiddly & took ages, but I was pleased with it. The kit also has the yarn for a stormtrooper, so I may have a go with that soon.

Lisa , that is not a dog, not at all. I see the most gorgeous floppy eared bunny. I have to say though that it is a she.
That's lovely Sus3v , you are very patient, do you mind sending some of that my way?
Me send you patience? Poo ! if I had spare you would be very welcome ?
You do very intricate crocheting - my eyes hurt if I do too much fiddly stuff and I like my crochet to grow quickly (hence being pleased with the virus pattern which grew very quickly) but I quite enjoy doing the detail in drawing. Don’t think I Am actually patient. Having said that, the blanket pattern I have found is going to need a bit of concentration ?
The cat took a couple of weeks (should have been a couple of days) because I am presently aimless and listless and it didn’t seem to come together well. I’m sure I will look back at this lockdown thing and wonder why I did not do more creative things.
Your watercolour landscapes remind me of a friend of mine’s work, she does really loose landscapes in oil (Google Louise Collis)
im off to follow an Aine Divine YouTube tutorial - I did a workshop of hers a couple of years ago. She is fab - doing things her way helps me loosen up. I look a bit grim in this one though ? My son number one said “I remember that look” lol

Well I am doing nothing...... I had a bad reaction to the tablets that are supposed to replace the tablets that are no longer available and they have left me shaking like a flag in a hurricane. I can hardly type for the shakes :( :( :(

The GP has no other alternative but has suggested a couple of websites and a medical textbook so I can be my own specialist - the local hospital is only dealing with emergencies and covid at th emoment or she would have asked them to have a look at me.

Oh Helen, I feel for you darlin'. :(. Tramadol did that to me and gave me hallucinations... I'd only taken one dose! So if the tablets cause shakes like this please let us know you have found an alternative as soon as possible.

And me Jay,
# I took one tramadol and spent Christmas Day with the family lying On the settee all day unable to sit up cos I was sick’n’dizzy, thinking I had been joining in the conversation but my daughter said I was burbling incoherently. If you are a child of mine, this is, apparently very very funny. ?

Puddleduck , hope you get that sorted soon, without having to give up chocolate! You need to be able to craft after all.
Sus3v , Aine Divine workshop, lucky you! From video I'd say she has a lovely attitude, she's nice to listen to.
Yes the workshop was great fun, but a while back. I couldn’t afford it now she is more famous ?
by the way folks, I have a dilemma.
I have bought some lovely pastel coloured yarn which looked nice on the website but is a bit sickly looking when worked together. Grrr. Colour is not my actual best thing. On the orange one, I kept trying a different colour to see if it worked, but seem to have made it worse - lol. i thought the purples would be brighter, but no - they deaden it.

so :
now what... Buy more in better colours (perhaps ?) and maybe use the colour choices on the pattern (boring but safe), go for it with the colours I have (perhaps not, I am already not happy with the results to date).
Favourite today is to use the combination shown in the photo - include green or not??
what I do need to do is stop blundering into another colour fail - it’s wasting wool (acrylic so not expensive as such - but I try to avoid waste)
I have had two goes at following the pattern with the bobbles, and failed twice (this hasn’t helped). Third time lucky with the balls as shown + see how big it can get.
does anybody know round about what weight or length is in a cake?

What about adding white or black? That can make a huge difference :)

I am of the opinion that if you don't like the colours you have not added enough - or added too much of one colour at a time or you need to add a "basic" as a neutral or a background.

Mmm... thank you for your good advice. The white circle i Have now completed has made a difference for the better. I shall start again and keep trying ??‍♀️ It’s a bit like watering flowers - not enough, they die; too much, they die. Just right, and hey! I can do this ?

Sus3v I love the aqua colour - that would look really something with just white or cream. Perhaps you should keep the blocks to just two colours plus white / cream ?

My counterpanes are multi-colour centres (picking up the colours of the art work in the bedroom) and then white and orange in the main blocks. So far not one block is complete :( 30 are in progress though!!

i have morphed into "all the gear but no idea" since branching out from tiny things (ambition outweighs talent) - lol

I have a stack of blues and white which will make a blanket. I ignored all that, because I wanted to make one of those lovely multicoloured throws i keep admiring on pinterest. in order to achieve this, i ordered a random selection of paintbox dk bundles which looked grand (separately) on the website, but it turns out i have no idea how to put them together to create a pleasing result... well i didn't choose well to be honest.
i rather fancied pink cream (or white) and green, but i did not choose the right pink/green and the cream isn't cream, it's yellow. Serves me right - i should have bought more carefully or locally - but the %%% off price was too tempting.
i agree the aqua colour is lovely - and there is a turquoise which i keep putting optimistically next to other colours; there is a horrid pink and the darker mauve is much less vibrant than i thought would be. I should have bought more balls of fewer colours.
I shall know next time (story of my life) :notworthy::giggle::giggle:
Enough already - i am now officially fed up of grumbling.

That‘s horrible, I’ve had the same reaction to a couple of meds. Hope you can get them out of your system soon.

Much much much better now.

Also I am now in control so have a purpose in making records and doing my own observations. Some will be pure fact (BP, temperature, hours of sleep, drugs taken) and some "soft" such as scale of pain.

All the orders are placed (except for extra fresh fruit which I will get with next week's groceries plus the week after as well if I am allowed the extra in my order) so just waiting for things to arrive and I can get started once I have the base line established.

I don't know if the link to these patterns has been posted before?

My Sainsbury order gone in today for delivery in Tuesday ------- £135.00 o_Oo_O would have been a LOT cheaper at Lidl / Aldi but I am not allowed out and Lidl/Aldi don't deliver..... once inside the store there is minimal social distancing so I am not going to ask anyone to put themselves at risk for me.

I have found the range of produce for delivery or C&C is reduced from what is available inside the shop - and it doesn't help that I am on such a restricted diet :( They have to cater for the majority of course.

If I couldn't go to Sainsbury's in "disabled and elderly" hour then I'd have to do click & collect as the first time I did the special hour by the time I got to the scanners checkout there were normal shoppers in and they were all over the place!

I have a blue badge, and definitely don't have the ability or stamina to queue up and do my shop, there aren't that many in my local store for that hour and all the other shoppers are very considerate, lots of "after you" with a smile.

My Mum took a folding chair so she could sit down as she was waiting in queues.

That's a good idea, when we were out on Friday there were a couple walking their dog, she obviously couldn't walk far as he was carrying a simple garden chair and they'd go a certain distance, then stop and he'd open the chair for her, she'd have a rest and then they'd go on again - they were out on their walk for at least half an hour and I thought that was such a nice way to still be able to go out for a walk.

Aqua and turquoise are difficult colours to match with others. Possibly best kept as complements to white.
thank you.
Well I have taken your advice and made this. At least I persevered beyond row 8!
I shall make a cot/pram blanket or two with some of the other pastel colours, but maybe not that pattern I shall look at the Celtic knot pattern.
maybe I should stick to using the colour changing yarns then I can’t go wrong ?
