Just reading their newsletter and they are developing a 48v system for caravans including Lithium power pack etc. with Bosch Wonder if this is the future for MH too?

Just hope they don't come up with a Canbus type system as well, we will be truly stuffed if something goes wrong when we are on tour.

May be a daft question. Why? 12v seems fine to me.

May be a daft question. Why? 12v seems fine to me.

The only reason for higher voltage is voltage drop in wiring. So a tiny saving in copper.

A 100Ah battery is roughly the same size if it is 12/24/48V no gain there.

So "why ?" is a very good question.

Downside - everything in the shops runs on 12V.

Talking with a Mastervolt guy in Germany a couple of years ago and his suggestion was run at least 24v if not 48v and then drop down for the vehicle consumption, everything would run more efficiently at high voltage.
