Just a bit of fun.
My other half has named our vans as female.
Cars are boys apparently.

The only word in the English language with a gender is a ship
All ships are female (Even the aircraft carrier "Prince of Wales" is 'her')

Are all MoHo's ships of the road ?
Therefore are they all female ?

Ours is mostly refered to as the van, sometimes the Hymer but never with a gender, though the van is very comfortable and much cared for does not have a gernder.

Hard to say. My boats have all been "girls". But never thought of any `van as either. having said that they do tend to be a bit "contrary" at times Sooooooooooooooooooo?.

My dad's vans were always girls and always had the same name "Betsy". I can hear him now as the old loaded Dormobile slowed as she struggled up an assent. "Come on Betsy old girl"

I'm the same, they are women; but thinking about it we give our vans names that could be any gender, "the slug" " the German" "the Yank" "The Van" We did have a "George" but she was a Tomboy. Is Tomboy a gender these days,

What about the word "woman"?

Anything that “carries” anybody, as a woman ”carry’s” a child, is female, all be it, car, bus, boat motorhome, anything.

We'll join the sad brigade.
It's called IT. When IT get older IT can decide what IT wants to be.
What a crumbled society we live in.

Definitely male.

It’s named Fred for reasons explained elsewhere on the Forum.;)

It's not a person, or an animal. It's an inanimate object. It's an 'IT'. :)

Our van identifies as clean and shiny. That is until yesterday when we went for a hab service to York and back. It now identifies as mucky and needs a wash!(y)

Hi.
It all depends on the situation we find "Ourselves" in . If "We" pull off a major manouver (Overtake/Grand Slalom:cool:) Its "You little TART!!" .If "Storming the Bank" ( Pyrree knees) Its "Captain to engine room MORE POWER!!". If having to apply the brakes (Hush my mouth!!) Its "Whoa back m'e dads horse".But bestest of all,is when we are "Rolling down the French m/ways at speed factor 130km/hr (+ X %.? ) with a big grin on my face. Its "You little sod..Get ON!!".Part of the number is ..YY so Delilah springs to mind, but i think there is one already on here. So,whatever, whenever. Lets crunch some miles(y)(y).

Sad innit?

Ours is called Bertie, as in Bertie Bolero, 'cos that's what SWMBO called it the day we took delivery and it's stuck. Even has the name on it now too!

As I said, sad innit?
