Had a quote for insurance renewal by CMHC (PVC, 2018 reg) . Over £2000. Are they nuts?

I have just received our renewal offer from the CCC.

The word 'shocked' doesn't do the word justice, in a welcome way.

Perhaps you shouldn't have fitted that Lamborghini engine . . . . Seriously though, if nothing has changed, either a mistake has been made (computer says . . .) or as someone else has said, they don't want your business. Plenty of options out there that should leave you change from the £2000 quoted.

Graham, we have similar vans. My renewal from AiB was £400, until I told them I had an ’Incident’….ended up being £450. However, we do have to class our van a being parked on the road, so that pushes up the premium.

That's amazing. I was with them for years but they started to make noises about not insuring aged drivers above a certain age, so I moved. I don't know if that stipulation still applies. I might check with them next renewal, but I'll be even older then!!
