Today in the long running saga to get reinstated my C1 qualification on driving licene (entitlement to drive vans over 3500kg due to age).
Decided it was too dodgy driving them down at 10pm at night, pushed my luck far enough by then.
Last November I went to the Royal Berks to have a treadmill test, told them I could not run due to breathlessness (smoking) but they still said I had to do it, needless to say I lasted 3.5 minutes!
At long last I got an appointment at a London hospital 1.5 hours drive away from where I live to go for a drug induced stress test on my heart.
After waiting for 45 minutes after my appointment time, they attempted to stick a needle feed in my left arm, gave up after two attempts to get the vein, then tried the right arm and eventually succeeded.
Squirted some drug into me which made my pulse rate go up from 60 to 129 beats per minute, then squirted some radiactive tracer into me and pushed me off for 20 minutes to let the radioactive particles stick to my heart.
Then off to this scanner which took 20 minutes to take pictures of my heart whilst I lay flat on my back.
Got to go back AGAIN on Thursday to another injection of radioactive stuff and another 20 minute scan to watch my heart no longer under stress.
Forgot to ask if my b**lls were now radioactive
All because three years ago I had a couple of stents in my groin, told them they were for my legs and they are below my heart.
Now you know what you could be in for when you hit the magic 70
More to follow!
