We have the kind of table that you can move backwards and forwards and in and out. When we're on the move it has to be secured with two wind in retainers that you turn to hold the table in place. One of them came off in HWMBO's hand last time we were out. No problem we thought we'll get it welded back on. But it turns out it can't be welded as the tube bit is aluminium. Any ideas for a solution to this?

Hard to tell from the pic but how was that device attached in the first place? It looks as though it may have been crimped over the end of the aluminium tube and the end of the tube has broken off?
