OK we have used our towed Car - a Toyota AYGO Xcite - for the very first time , we've done 700 miles (almost)

BUT we do not have the trailer warning triangles fitted YET - - but HOW to

The rear windscreen is too dark to see them through it
The bodywork is plastic so can't use magnetic
the bodywork curves so much that suction cups don't stay on

Do you see my problem ?????

Has anyone got any bright ideas that I can try

because ALL I can think of is some broad webbing to fix the triangles to made to fit around the rear window /boot door

HELP!!!!!!!

TAF in Chrsterfield supplied us a pair with suction cups. They don’t work well but they are on a strap that goes around and behind the window so they are really strapped on. Give them a call.

Weve recently got an Aygo and have been using these ones. Done about 500 miles so far and they seem fine, just clean the rear window in the area you are attaching to.

OP said the rear window is too dark to see them....presumable a heavy tint.

Hilarious!!! As if these little triangles make the back end of a tow car more visible !!!
I think they do show the vehicle / trailer is being towed, particularly at night. They are a legal requirement as is their positional spacing.

Yes I know but how ridiculous is this regulation . I tow to classic car shows around the country. If you can't see my LR S2A on a trailer in front of you, I really don't think the pair of little triangles on the lighting board is going to help! At night the rear lights of the towed vehilcle or trailer would be on anyway.

Had an Aygo converted for towing by LNB Towbars in Bristol. They supplied an ‘On Tow’ board with the required triangles that was supposed to sucker onto the back window on the inside, but like yours the window was heavily tinted so they turned the suckers around and stuck it on the outside. I got home with it on a rainy night and the following morning it came off with the slightest tug. Not good. I cut holes in the 4 corners of the board and strapped it on with thin webbing in conjunction with the suckers and included a safety cord in case it fell off. It worked, but is a right pain to put on and take off. I did look into getting a removable vinyl sign made…

…but wasn’t sure if it would meet the reflective requirement. It might be an option, but I stuck with the heath robinson solution. Hope this helps.

They are reversible, so you can put them on either the inside or outside of the screen. As I said.

Back to TAF then. When our Morris Minor was fitted with the A-Frame they offered to fit a removable set-up for the rear number plate. I declined but didn’t know about the rear triangle requirement. I will now get in the queue for this “upgrade”.

We had a couple of spring clips to hold the mh number plate on top of the car one. It would be easy to attach the triangles with a bit of stiff plastic.

Our rear window is heavily tinted (but legal) can't see the triangles through it I've tried

So is mine, its an Aygo as I said. The triangles I use are reversible and can be used either inside, not on the Aygo due to the heavy tinting, but on the outside, which as Ive said I do with no problem. They are compliant with the law ( reflective) and have worked well thus far. 🥵

Like this but the strap goes horizontally behind the triangles and around the window edges into the car where there is a buckle to tighten. Totally reliable and easy to fit

Manic made the same thing for our 107!
