5 gallons of oil (22.7 litres) !!!£307.14 for oil and filters , oil £50 a gallon so £250, oil filters £10, pollen filter £20 so what cost £220 + labour?
Perhaps I am living in the past but it does seem a bit steep.
Think it was the £250 an hr labour which slightly hurts.I remember having to buy 12l of Mobil 1 back in the day to fill the dry sump oil tank on my 1978 SC.
Bl@@dy Rip off.It probably equates to 1.5 hrs labour.

I'd have refused to pay until they reduced the 5 litre price down to the individual price/litre along with "don't take the piss ****"Oil - 7 litres in total, 5 litre can £79.43 + 2 litres @ £12.97 each
Looks like I will beCrazy. Who pays these prices?
They'd have charged an extra 1/2hr labour to put in 7 separate litre cans of oil so they've done you a favour.10 month old Ducato based MoHo. Below quote from Fiat Professional (HTC Belvedere) for oil & filter change (not service). 5L can works out more expensive than per litre price (£15.89)? Pretty sure they just pump from 45gal drum anyway. Total = £331.75 inc VAT. Extortionate?
1 hour labour @ £150
Oil filter £19.66.
Sump washer £1.43

Probably best to stick to main dealer whilst under warranty.
Yes why as only 10 month's old??? Fiat not due till 24 month's, so why do it a year early, as it won't help in the long run.
Just means doing it twice unless you only done short town journeys, which I doubt very much, or you covered 20k in 10 month's, mines same age done 6,500 miles !
P.s. Oil quote is right OE Petronas Selenia is £15+ a litre, filter is retail, but labour is rediculous especially when it's only 20-30 mins to change. Also not 7 litres so make sure they give you what was left for topping up.
So the upshot is you don't have to spend a penny with Fiat main stealers while it's within it's 24 month warranty.
If you want to use Petronas it's available on Ebay, but there's a Millers or Mobil 1 equivalent that is the same spec .
Approved specialist's are available with a stamp, you do have to send supplying dealer a copy of Invoice as proof.
My local fiat commercial dealer carried out warranty work on mine at 30 months, having it serviced with them definitely helped.Yes why as only 10 month's old??? Fiat not due till 24 month's, so why do it a year early, as it won't help in the long run.

I had it serviced with the 24 months, it was out of warranty so would have been chargeable if they hadnt been helpful. How did this help, as they would still have had to carry out all warranty work if you hadn't spent an additional £350???
Where as you actually didn't comply with the servicing schedule that states 24 month's or 30,000 miles (Whichever sooner)
Was the warranty work related to the engine being faulty???
Probably not as these euro 6 motor is now in a different class to all it's predecessors, and they should have advised you were wasting your money, but they're not going to do that are theyunless you physically asked them the question ! ! !
First oil change should not be left for 24 months if you want reliability from an engine.Yes why as only 10 month's old??? Fiat not due till 24 month's, so why do it a year early, as it won't help in the long run.

He was just unlucky the job started just before the lunch break and didn't finish to just afterwardsYou've got to be kidding
It should take 15 -20 mins at most. That's how long it would take me lying underneath it. Access to drain plug and filter is very easy. They are taking the piss. I'd ask why it takes a trained mechanic with all the tools and ramps that long.
Lidl were selling a pump this week for 10.99. Don't know whether it's any good and whether you get all the dirty oil outAs an aside, anyone recommend a dipstick oil removal pump. Seems to be a lot less messy than cracking the sump plug.
It probably equates to 1.5 hrs labour.

Tried one of them on my boat engine once. Complete waste of money. The sump plug on the Fiat is easily accessible, not even a jack required.Lidl were selling a pump this week for 10.99. Don't know whether it's any good and whether you get all the dirty oil out![]()
Don't what?Dont
Ive just paid £81 for the oil and £31 for the filter. Will take me 30 mins when the sun shines.just paid £290 for an oil change at a Fiat approved garage to adhere to the Fiat warranty side of things, asked them about swapping my wheels around ( front to back and back to front ) quoted £110.00 ...said no and did it myself in 30 mins using standard jack at home in the road and not on a ramp ...
