If you get that far North, Verdun is worth a visit, especially the Fort. Really interesting WW1 experience, if it is open.

That is some serious kindred spirit aire liking !
I d also throw in anywhere in the alsace and if youre going round Swtizerland I ll throw a curve ball which may or may not be a good idea because of covid. It will either be packed or empty.
The aire (which isnt an aire but you will find a number of motorhomes wilding overnight along with the odd tent and car with a mattress in it) is here

Next to a lake which is part of a series of lakes that run into lac Vouglans.
About 2 miles from this lake is the northern entrance to the cascades du herisson. A series of 11 waterfalls over a 2 mile stretch. you can walk behind the waterfalls swim in them take photos all day. It is stunning.
The downside is the path is narrow and is 2 way. There are points on the path where you have to wait for people coming in the opposite direction.
My thoughts are it will be q. but i cannot state more than my thoughts. If it is q then a great spot to tour the lakes from and see the cascades early in the morning.
You will need to google search cascades du herisson

Thanks guys
Keep them coming 👍
