A bit late to kick this one off but hope some can still join us! Highlands End campsite in Eype, Dorset have kindly agreed to offer 10% Fun discount again with the option to extend in addition to the Meet dates, arriving earlier & leaving later also with the discount applying. The core Meet is arrival on Monday 8 September for 4 nights departing Friday - this should work as an add on for those coming from the Warner's Southern Shepton Mallet Show , the Dorset County Show https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/new-dorset-county-show-with-showground-campsite.319416/ 🐄 or who have attended Bridport Hat Festival 🎩
Ideal for those who might like to meet up before heading across to the continent & maybe on the way to ferry ports for some.
It's a lovely, well appointed campsite in a scenic spot between two beaches & a walk away from the town of Bridport so do hope that some new to this Meet are tempted :hi::hi: as well as the friendly Funsters who regularly join us :hi5: We plan to have at least a couple of relaxed gatherings in the covered section in Martin's Bar Beer Garden (it even has heaters!) where everyone will be welcome on Monday & Thursday evenings but no obligation.

Book now via the website https://wdlh.co.uk/holiday-parks/highlands-end/ - after picking arrival date the number of nights box is above that which can easily be missed :blusher: like we did at first! At checkout enter discount code RA in the Unique Code box & click on UPDATE for the 10% discount to be applied to the Meet dates or call Highlands End Booking Office on 01308 426947 if any problems or queries. This time the main Meet will be arriving Monday 8 September & departing Friday 12 September 2025 as these are the quieter & slightly cheaper nights but you may like to extend your stay from 4 nights to a longer stay & the discount also applies online & over the phone to the nights of 7, 12, 13 & 14 September (y)
Price for a grass pitch with EHU for the 4 nights is from £115.74 after discount (£115.20 if the optional Jurassic Coast donation removed) or from £151.30 for a gravel or hard base pitch. Please note that demand for grass pitches is usually high & these sold out first last year so please book as soon as you can. This rate is for up to 2 people, 1 unit, 1 car & awning or well pegged Quest shelter. Dogs come along at extra cost (limit now increased to 3 dogs per pitch) but most love the enclosed dog exercise field & doggy shower, Eype beach allows dogs as does part of West Bay beach at that time of year with both a walk away along the South West Coast Path or other footpaths direct from the Campsite.

Will regularly update this first post - please let us know you are joining us, giving your first names & maybe what type of pitch if you want fellow Funsters to say hello :hi: :hi:

********************************************************************************************************************************************
For those who can't wait until September or who can't make the Meet dates there is currently the rare offer of a discount for bookings from now until 22 May using discount code HAPPY at all the WDLH Holiday Parks https://wdlh.co.uk/holiday-parks/ & accommodation.
We are a bit biased & think that a Meet with the camaraderie of fellow Funsters is the best way to experience this Campsite (even if you don't attend the evening gatherings) but better to visit alone than not at all.

Stop teasing, I’m itching to book! We have Dara O Briain on the 4th at Westlands so September is shaping up to be a good month…

Done now - it's been a busy day - trying to sort a Cornwall Meet for later in the month too! 🤞 Shame that Show is sold out as it should be a good one.

Very grateful for all your hard work Karen I hasten to add and I hope you realise it’s only meant in fun.

Thanks for organising again Karen. Unfortunately due to other commitments we can’t make it this year. Maybe next year!

Hoping to encourage a few more Funsters to join us :hi: :hi: so will add some highlights of the area & Campsite:
Firstly they rarely offer any discount but we have a 10% Fun discount code as in the first post above so a great chance to try out this excellent site (y)
Secondly it's location is unbeatable imho for views of the Jurassic Coast with a beach in walking distance each side - there are both coastal & slightly inland footpaths direct from the Campsite.

My personal favourite Eype Beach - photos taken last year - the hut above the beach featured in the Broadchurch tv drama

I’m amazed so few are coming this year Karen. We were there for the day yesterday as Claire and Alex are over. Fish and chips obviously plus a nice walk followed by ice creams. Didn’t see your post before. Station kitchen has been renamed Platform although I don’t think the owners have changed. Claire and Alex had their tiny wedding reception there last August.

It’s our happy place.

We would love to come Karen, but I will be away in the Suffolk/Norfolk area in September visiting old haunts. Hope you have a good time (and I am sure you will!). Eddy and Clare.

There are lots of footpaths locally as well as the SW Coast Path which runs past - here's just a few from the Campsite which includes both routes down to West Bay

The Campsite has just been reviewed & rated again by the AA ""There is so much to admire at Highlands End Holiday Park, not least of which being the care and pride which underpins all aspects of the operation. The reception team typify this approach and no doubt guests all appreciate the helpful and engaging approach of the team. An excellent range of facilities on offer, literally something for all the family here. Touring areas in great shape with hardstanding pitches being weed free and excellent demarcation. The toilet and shower blocks in good order with fixtures and fittings well maintained and also diligent cleaning. Excellent dog shower! Grass all neatly mown, albeit showing the impact of such a dry period. Overall, strength in depth and hence a classification at Five Stars is retained with a Platinum Award."

I am afraid we are postponing our visit Karen. It’s for a happy reason though. Claire is visiting from Panama. If the van was bigger she’d happily come too! It’s her last visit home as she’s having a baby which is very exciting, due in December. She’s just had the all clear to come home. Highlands End have let us move our booking until after she goes back. They’re so helpful.

Congratulations to you all! Totally understand & good to hear that the Campsite could adjust your booking (y)
