Getting better
Chausson Flash 10. Im on a campsite and had a few electric appliances going, when all of a sudden everything went off. I checked the mains switch was on and the inside switch has not tripped. They have checked the bollard and that has power so it must be something inside. I’ve turned everything off and then tried one small thing only but nothing is coming on. Any ideas please in simple terms!

If the trips are OK then it could be the lead.
Process of elimination.
Good luck.

Thank you, will try that but it is a new lead (used for a few weeks).

I assume you can turn on the main breaker in the consumer unit and it stays latched.
If it's staying latched but still no power you could unplug the hookup lead completely and remove the back cover of the plugs to check all six wires, three each end, are in their terminals and the screws are tight.
Even a new lead could be poorly constructed with loose screws.

Many thanks, will do

... to clarify, if it wont latch on then you're not getting power to the breaker. That'd mean it's either your lead, the bollard or a problem further "up stream".

Just out of interest, how do you know the bollard has power?

Is there another bollard socket you can try. Same happened to me at Scotts Farm and for some reason it was my outlet.

I'm far from being an expert in electric things but is your lead on a reel? And if yes, did you undo it completly?
Some cable are quite strong but they deliver their full power only if totally off the reel, even if new.

The warden came along with a meter and checked the bollard. Tried the socket next to mine as well.

And that will be where the wardens responsibility ends.
Just like electric companies, power at the meter .....after that it's your problem

Sounds to me like the lead if the van wont latch on. Earth problem? Wet terminals? or as others have suggested, check the 3 contacts at each end of the plug, also check for cuts in the EHU lead along its length. Ask to borrow a neighbour lead for a few minutes to eliminate the lead.

Hope you find the solution soon!

That's the best idea.
Most folks will help/oblige.
If that doesn't work either at least you eliminated your hookup lead

Check the ehu plug to see if any internal wires have come loose.or ask another van if you can plug your ehu cable into thier bollard and check yours..if you have a multimeter handy, you can check your leads with that .

In my experience that's all the more reason to check the connections at the plug and socket. Manipulation of the EHU lead and the plug and socket may have dislodged an already poor or loose internal connection.

It is not on a reel and was fully unwound, that’s something I learnt about here on MHF, but thanks for the thought😊

I carry a blue plug to13A socket adapter, and a socket tester. This is for testing the hookup post, EHU lead and sockets inside the MH.

Yup, just tried different things and I still have a problem. I have plugged in a different cable which I know works, but the green light on the control panel in the unit is still not on, showing no power coming in. I have plugged in to a different bollard and still nothing. Any other suggestions please?

Are you getting the normal 12v powered items like your lighting and such, or is it just the 240v stuff like microwave and the like that's packed up?

Is there any sign of damage to your power inlet plug on the ‘van…..?

Yes, 12v all seems to be working normally, just 240v is the problem.

Can you get at the back side of the power inlet on your van, it could be a loose wire in there ? Do you have a multi meter with you ?
