Hi Folks,

I recently purchased my Hymer Exsis 562 2011 and discovered the rear habitation seat belt doesn’t release, it keeps locking. It’s not the seatbelt beside the window but the one in the middle. The part was being ordered from the dealership but they have since ceased trading. I’m now going to order the recoil mechanism and fit it myself. I have briefly looked and located the recoiled mechanism and its looks like it’s in an awkward position! Nestled nicely beside the water tank and below the seatbelt metal frames construction. Would anyone have any advise along these lines? Cheers in advance,
Ciaran

Alas it look like a water tank out job. 😩

:welco:
That looks like a pig of a job you may have remove the seat base to get the tank out, just take your time.

if it keeps locking, it probably just needs adjusting so that when you pull the seatbelt out the belt leaves the drum straight in the direction of the pulling. It is not uncommon for the reel to be knocked out of line during the install

You said it...... a pig of a job 😂

TheBig1 would it be a case of pull the cord out to the max so that the drum is emty, then let it recoil? Or do I need to remove the mechanism to re align it.

Thanks for the advice 👍

slacken the retaining bolt, adjust for free movement of the belt and tighten

Ahh I see, thanks again

Either way it’s going to be a big job 😬
Thanks for the responses.
