Niesmann and Bischof
After some very lengthy discussions we have decided, reluctantly, to sell our Niesmann and Bischoff Arto 69gl. It is beautiful but it's not working for us as a family. So if anyone is interested in a 2005 Niesmann and Bischoff Arto 69gl with 1 previous owner and is ready to go on adventures please get in touch. I am so sad it's painful writing this. It was my dream but I can't see it happening for us. 😥

What doesn’t he like about it? Perhaps if you involve him in the planning of an exciting trip he might begin to enjoy travelling. You haven’t had the MH for long and most of that must have been during travel restrictions - perhaps he hasn’t seen the fantastic places you could visit now restrictions are being lifted?

That is sad to read as I know you have really enjoyed having the van .

I feel your pain, but 6 into a PVC was never going to work hence the lodge!

Still kept the van for work and visiting the parents!

The few times we have been out in it he is miserable. Then it becomes stressful and no fun. I can't sell it to him. We were hoping to get to France and I thought that might make him see it in a different way but it needs using regularly here as well.

I am so sorry to hear that you are selling your motorhome because your son doesn't like it. What is it that he 'hates' about it? Have you really had it long enough and used it enough to fully evaluate whether it gives you the holidays you want?

Thank you for your considered response. I agree that the times that we have been away it has been cold, wet etc and we had a few minor issues. It must seem grim to him. I don't know what to do ☹

Where have you been on the few times you’ve been out in it?

I’d have thought most kids his age would see being able to travel as a huge adventure!

I’d at least wait till the summer so he can experience travelling in good weather. Hopefully he will get excited about it then.

Has he got some hobbies that the van could be used to enable him to take part ?

Admittedly having and using a van in winter isn’t always brilliant as the shorter days can make it less fun.

I really think you need to use the Motorhome in the better weather before you sell it. Give it until you've at least had a few trips out in the summer and then see how he feels.

What about him taking his best friend with him see how that works.

I had the same many many years ago every time we went on holiday. The solution was to take his best friend with him
worked for us .

We went to Chester to a CL...it poured down all weekend. The Lakes....it poured down and we sprang a leak..fixed under warranty and ran out of gas (rooky mistake), my sisters racing yard in Newmarket. Meant to be going away next week but other half now says he can't face it.

Probably very off putting to an 11 year old, I know it's not everyone's cuppa tea but what about a Haven site?

Being totally honest, these trips aren’t selling it to me as a lovely trip for your 11 year old , I can sort of see why he might have taken against the van .::bigsmile:

What does he like doing ?

We agreed to take him to Bournemouth st Easter to go to a VR event and that seemed to go down well.

I've got three sons and there's no way I would have let them decide something like this. He's eleven, he doesn't get to choose. You do.
And that's what I would say too but it's meant to be fun and relaxing...it doesn't feel that way at the moment. I loved camping in France as a child and really wanted him to enjoy it too.

That's good, you need to keep that bit of enthusiasm going. Let him help by possibly picking a place to eat while you're away or choosing a meal to have in the MH.
