We left the bracket and tap somewhere in the south of France. The roads were atrocious, hardly surprising.

Yes, it was not glued, but it really does not need glue, it has a metal bracket and good joint which can pulled apart for cleaning.

But we were so embarrassed and ashamed, 'er indoors spent the whole journey in bed with the quilt over her head and I drove with a paper bag over my head, two eye holes of course, to make sure no-one would recognise me.

I see no need to drive around with a tank full of grey water. It is heavy and can get smelly. You should do what we do and empty it out fully into a bucket before driving. The bucket will soon dry out when driving away and the small hole in the bottom saves carrying anything heavy to dispose of.

I don’t think Motorhomes dribbling a bit of grey water just as every caravan leaving a site does too as the pipes empty is a problem.
It certainly isn’t even on Jo public’s radar in any way but many forums and Facebook pages have members obsessed by it .
This isn’t going to end well for someone as the day will come that they poke your nose into the wrong persons business ⚠️

I personally think a motorhome is pretty similar to a narrowboat in many ways, such as leisure batteries, calor gas heating, cooking, grey and black waste etc etc etc.

Narrowboats are designed to quite happily empty everything but the black into the canal. Fish don't seem to mind, nor the waterways agency, nor the fishermen, but then you'll never see one on the motorway, or we really have had a lot of rain:)

I love how people get so excited about grey waste. Blimey, I think nearly every truck dumps a certain amount of oil, fuel and brake debris over the motorways and other roads and no one ever has a rant over them, unless there's a similar truckers forum called TruckersFun and they do on there, a bit of grey wouldn't hurt and I've never heard to anyone having an accident cos they slipped on my spent shower gel and dish water.

Many sites want it dumped on the grass in the summer and into the hedges, I think it's a waste of the grey to leave it open on the road.

And the general public just love trucks!

Did Jamie Whitham use brakes, he was so late on them into the corners?

you dont have anything to complain about untill you have been passed on your bike by a cattle truck with incontinent cows :(
I know only too well Honda 50 on long dual carriageway stuck behind wagon and getting wetter and wetter, I didn't realise it was a cattle truck until a few miles later when I caught up with it at a set of traffic lights . Circa 1979

It`s all about PERCEPTION, "Joe Public" see`s it and equates the act, with those who open the car door and dump everything, including soiled nappies!. Whilst in essence, a few litres of Washing water will in some measure even help clean our filthy road surfaces, It is more likely to give further "ammunition" to the Jealous Bureaucratic Barstewards who formulate the regulations WE are then forced to comply with. So for all our sakes, better not do it.

Oh, and BTW, not a good idea to show the number plate, shaming is all very good, and I would applaud it, But the P-C prats and some "plod" have different idea`s especially around "privacy". (when it suits them).
But do they though ?

Has anyone ever asked a few how publics or are we just assuming that's what they think because some on here do?

I think most joe public in this day and age know it isn't toilet waste dripping out of a motorhome.

The guy who complained to me this week for dumping grey water in a drain definitely thought it was toilet waste. He told me that motorhomers in the Hebrides were dumping cassettes in ditches. So at least one soul thinks the worst. Having said that, he blamed the council for lack of facilities!

You better believe it!. Once took me weeks to get my Leathers Clean and not stinking like a Cess pit!. :mad:That was just from having to follow one down a narrow lane to a campground, backed off, but the "damage" was already done.

In general, the law does not protect us (or our property) from being photographed in public places and posted on line so long as no commercial use is made of our identifiable likenesses.

Yes, you can also photograph the Boys in Blue and many other officials. Pop onto youtube for some humorous "you cant film me, I will sue you" 'debates'.

I'm neither supporting nor objecting to posting motor home licence plates, I'm just talking about the general principle in law. Deciding to post will almost always be a moral decision, not a legal one.

Then why are ALL the Government, Official cars photographed with "blanked" number plates?.

Because there are exceptions.

For example, I can get hotogreph you and/or your car in a public place whether you like it or not. I can also photograph the police officer. Or the traffic warden. But, I cannot photograph a Judge.

There are a few exceptions that prove the rule.

I wonder why?. What is SO exceptional about a Judge?. After all, as those who "favour" ID cards are fond of quoting, "If you are doing nothing wrong, what have you to hide". Why is some "chosen" OIK`s Privacy Greater than mine? .

Yeah, not pleasant. Did give me a good laugh a few months ago though....

Boy racer in very very shiny white Golf comes screaming past me - in my car - at what really was not a safe place to overtake, then is forced to pull in behind the cattle truck in front of me. A roundabout comes up a couple of hundred yards later - boy racer right up behind the truck - and as the truck slews round to the right and goes over the camber, gallons of slurry come pouring out the back and spraying straight towards boy racer's highly polished white pride and joy.

Laugh? Too bloody right I did!

Parked up in Barton grey water getting dumped. Looks like a pedestrian crossing to me. Zigzags and black and white stripes across the road in front. So was it parked or at a crossing or parked on a crossing having a shower or doing the washing up while waiting for a few pedestrians?
No he was at the traffic lights
So now he is at traffic lights and not parked up? Maybe parked up at traffic lights at a pedestrian crossing having a shower and doing the washing up ;)

I’m currently on my first official site with this thing and they do have a drain right next to the fresh water tap/drain.
But it’s not something I can drive over and unload. Was I supposed to buy a large diameter hose to go over the tank outlet pipe so that I can reach the drain or is this “waste water” (labelled as such) not for this purpose. I don’t want to go sloshing it on the ground next to the drain as it’s right next to the fresh water tap and drain.
I don’t want a CAMC drama on my hands on my first site visit (n):)

Some vans do come with a hose extension but as most vans eject their water vertically from somewhere beneath the vehicle, which varies a lot, it defies my logic to see how illogical some disposal drains are sited.
Equally when grey and black water are disposed of in long narrow drain slots that need driving over.

They've got a road that goes round the site but the drains that are labelled "waste water" are not on the roadway, they are set to one side in a brick enclosure right next to the drinking water.
If I was to just drop the waste water as close as I could, it would not only go down the drinking water drain but flood the enclosure which has the bins in it.
Lordy me! (n)

Because dead animals/birds, and other Pollution is deposited on roads it makes OK to dump your water onto the road then,so if you see rubbish dumped anywhere we might as well dump our rubbish there !!! If you cannot afford to camp and treat our country with respect givé it up.

C&MC sites normally have an area you can pull into off the site road that has a drain under a metal cover. It would be at the same place as the fresh water.
You drive in so that your tap is over the drain and THEN lift up the cover and open tap directly into it.

I must be blind then, even the website says the facilities include a "drive over waste disposal for motorhomes" but I'll be buggered if I can see it. I'll have to look like noob and ask.

They will usually have a dedicated motorhome dump and fill station that you can drive over. Ask at reception.
