can anyone suggest a better valve for the waste water drain than the crappy grey plastic ones that come with a lot of new vans please?I really think they are cheap and tacky and need replacing as they drive me nuts. Thanks!

Well the plastic ones are cheap to replace or a trip to B&Q plumbing section might through up something and there is always taps on eBay :)

I have changed mine to a large ball valve from a koi pond,
They come in many sizes and easy to fit,
This is similar to what I fitted

Gate valves from Koi places work well.

When I bought my van the tap had been broken off by the previous owner,he told me it was an optional extra so I didn't bother replacing it.
I've had the van three years now and still can't work out what it was for !

Oh my dear, I have to agree, those grey plasticky things look so Chavey. Before we even collected our last van hubby insisted the vendor replaced all the taps in the van with gold plated ones. They are so much more pleasing to look at and make the van feel, so much more like home

... if it works though, what's the point in changing it .... :) ... just wait until you knock it off then get a new one! :D

Exactly what is a waste water tap supposed to do other than drain, why fix what its supposed to do :reel:

What is needed is a valve that opens with airflow so it will drain the tank as it goes along the motorway.

It's cheap and nasty and difficult to open without the full pipe turning.
