has any of you been to Benidorm and got Uk tv and if so what sat dish would I need .

Nothing you can't get in benidorm:D

I spent winter in Benidorm and I used Jackson’s satellites at Wakefield, fitted there own 85 cm dish with Intelsat receiver, I was picking all uk tv up without a problem.

NO UK tv unless you have a massive dish or play it through your devices. Some campsites have a tv hook up. No matter what it's the same junk.

From what I hear just about anything from England is available in Beni..................except UK TV.

Richard.

Yes.. Standard 85cm dish .. but no BBC or ITV channels .. Only a big selection of Sky channels

We found that, for instance, Alibi was not available, but Alibi +1 was fine
We found that on many of the channels

If you want to get those then really a 1.2mtre dish is about the smallest you can get away with
The bigger camp site have tv hook up which do deliver the ITV and BBC progs to you

Be aware that Vilasol is a bit old fashioned though and are still on analogue, so if your TV only gets digi you aint gonna get a lot from the TV posts

How on earth do they do that ? We haven't had any analogue here for many years. Probably getting on for 10?

They take in Tv signals from the Digital service but it is re-distributed via an Analogue RF distribution system. (y)
So you need an old TV or a modern TV with an Analogue tuner, not all modern tv's now have both Digital and Analogue.

Where are you staying? If Camping Villamar then all you need is an extension TV cable with the screw fitting and connect into their system. Condemnation Street, Eastbenders and Hollymolly Oaks are all there free of charge, well included in the fees. Each to their own

With or without Br****, I doubt the Spanish government will want to have anything to do with Benidorm...

JJ
The Spanish government relies on the income Benidorm generates from us brits. Come brexit if they are fewer peeps travelling due to the confused rules etc the Spanish govt will have to put up taxes to compensate.

Something not mentioned so far.
If you cannot use a dish and have nowt else but your telly and a normal tv aerial on your van, go through the tuning process but do NOT select Spain in the menu, but leave it set to UK
An awful lot of Spanish telly in the evening consists of brit or yank programs
If you leave it set to UK, Most digi programs that were originally in English will still be, and it will select the English language option.
Not all work, but a surprisingly large amount will

An 80cm dish will get some UK TV, those channels on the Astra 2 European beam,
But for channels like BBC ITV C4 Five, UKTV, Quest, that are on the European bean, then a dish a min of 100x110 is needed, along with a very good LNB and very good fine tuning. A larger dish the better.

"all uk tv"... bit tricky when i907 only carries about 10 UK TV channels...of which about 7 are BBC channels...

Depends what you mean by "massive". 100x110 is not as massive as the 1.8s and 2,4m dishes needed on the old batch of uk tv satellites a few years ago.

Current EU rules mean pay services like Sky GO, and Now TV are available with decent internet, and without a VPN / Smart DNS system for about 30 days. After that limit the device needs to be reconnected to a UK IP address, before the next 30 day limit starts.

But for the likes of iPlayer, ITVHub, All4, Demand 5, UKTV, which are free services, then you still need a VPN / Smart DNS to get around the geoblocking

A few of the channels use the word "English" as their audio track so it can work without changing anything.
But other channels do not use the word "english", and use VO, DOS, QAA, MUL to describe the alternate audio track, which some TVs find, and others do not...

Thanks for input I think the sit may have tv H /up her indoors likes coris n emerd . The site is camping LA TORRETA. BENIDORM

On Torreta you can just plug a standard coaxial into their pitch sockets and have all the British TV you want plus more, think there is 120 plus channels Best to take coaxial cable with you plus the end connections as the cheapo Chinese shop cable doesn't always work, but the maintenance on Torreta will check your connections for you if you can't get a signal.

How much coax will I need 6mt ? Do they charge for this service.

Length depends on the pitch you are on, some points are close to the van others are a fair distance as their are usually 4 connections to a post. I would take a 10 metre length at least. They don't charge for the connections it's all in the price. They don't charge if you have an issue and they check the connections for you. Very prompt as well if you advise the reception, maintenance are soon on the scene very friendly, helpful lot at toretta.

If you check screwfix there are 25m reels plus connections for a tenner, more expensive in Beni
