Hi 2002 Hymer B544 and advised to check the oil in the gearbox. No idea where the dipstick is if one at all or where to top it up? Thanks

Right then down…….down and right…………comes to the same thing. Yes,can be a problem. Change oil and overfill yearly. Don’t believe anyone who tells you it’s a sealed box,or can’t be refilled. Only go into fifth when all warmed up after 10 minutes or so. Don’t labour it in fifth as it causes the cogs to chatter and may eventually smash them.Hi mine is down and right is that bad??
Yes it needs to be 20mm (3/4") above the normal 'maximum' . Mine was fortunate being 1989 ,in having a dipstick at the far ,rear top of the diff & you could cut another 'max' line bove the original. This was also used as a filler. If there is a plug still there you can use it to top up.On those gearboxes the fifth gear is vulnerable to failure so overfilling with oil is recommended
