Rapido V55 PVC
Exp
since 2003
We recently acquired a Rapido V55 PVC. As with previous vans I have always fitted fridge fans which I believe are beneficial.

The fridge fitted is a Dometic 9 series Absortion Fridge. Outside the van is the normal lower vent. There is no upper vent however there is a vent on the roof.

On previous fittings I have attached the fans to the upper vent.

Due to the setup on this van can anyone tell me if it is possible to fit fans.

Not a setup I've seen but if you are sure the upper vent is for the warm air coming from the fridge you may not need fans as it should have a strong chimney effect - warm air rising and all that. I would see how you get on with it though guess you could fit a fan in the roof vent.

So what stops the rain getting in through that vent?

All RVs (AFAIK) have roof vents for the fridge------ because they are better IMHO!!!
Yanks still sometimes fit fans, go onto RV sites like RV.net and see where/how they fit them.
The vent is designed for the job, of course it won't let rain in!!!!!

Our 2016 Rapido V68 pvc came with a fridge fan fitted from new.

I only found out when we were in France and the weather turned hot, and it clicked on and off thermostatically.

So if you haven't had the van in v. hot temperatures yet, I'd wait and see if one is already fitted.

I think it would be surprising if the V68 has one and the V55 doesn't?
