Evening All,
I’m going to attempt to remove my fresh water tank from my Hymer Exsis 562 -2011. This will allow me to replace one the kids seatbelts that’s locking on release (the recoil mechanism is nicely nestled below the water tank, hence the tank removal). My question is, has anyone completed such a task and would you have any top tips?

I guess your certain there is no other way to access it, but it does seen a bit drastic.
I`d be suprised if you find anyone else has removed the tank, but who knows.
Have you tried a squirt of WD-40 ? works for most things

I’ve tried to access the recoil mechanism but had no joy.

We took ours out of our eura mobil, because the seatbelt frame weighs over 30kg and only held one seat belt that was never used, 😉 we then did it all again when we sold it. 😁 Bob

Great skills, fair play 👏👍. Now that you finished the whole process, did you find any part of the process difficult or was it a case of being very methodical? When you were putting it back together did you replace any of the hose work? Cheers for your response 👍

It was easier than we expected, considering we had done the factory tour and seeing the chassis come in for a class build with only a box to sit on, 😉 and one of the first things to be bolted to the chassis was the part we took out. 😁

All the hoses were fine, I can't remember how long it took, but not that long because we was living in it, and were animal sitting 10 cows 3 horses and two dogs for Roger ex fun member wildman in a field near Ilfracombe. 😁 Bob.

One thing for sure, u had your hands full- all in a days wrk 💪👍

The trouble with this type of thing is the tank would be fitted before the Motorhome side wall was fitted, so good luck

I’m glad that job is done. I managed to take the water tank out along with the seat belt frame, which allowed me access the faulty seat belt. New seat belt fitted and all rebuilt- delighted that’s done. Thanks for all your replies 👍

Hi, glad I found your post. I have exactly the same van and same problem. Just started to dismantle to try to get tank out. It looks impossible at this stage. Any hints? Thank you

Unfortunately the OP's subs have expired and they have not logged in for over a year.
You could also ask on the Hymer Owner Group on Facebook.
