Yes, thank you
I am in a bit of a quandary with the acronyms being used, there appears to be in some quarters a lot of vitriol aimed at those who are known as *The FLT*.
I thought it was for Full Timers, but it would appear that it might mean Free loading Tw*ts judging by some of the comments made about issues arising about disposal of waste grey water , black water and rubbish. Its a genuine question or am I reading it in the wrong context?

Here we go again. Get the popcorn out ! AC/DC your question is a fair one and has been the subject of discussion on this forum many, many times and has a long history. The correct term is Free Loading Tossers ! and is accepted by the majority as those who often Wild Camp and by a minority who believe we are the scum of the earth and must always use a campsite. I'm not going any further here as the vitriol will soon start. Welcome to Fun.

Some people see none site fans as Free Loading Tossers.

People (like me) that hate sites see ourselves as much more than that :giggle:

Some people that use sites are tossers, some who don’t are also tossers, most people are just decent people who like different things :giggle:

Edit...

Here’s us on an industrial estate ;)

That look remarkably like our old pit pond 🤣🤣👍

The nearest I would go to a campsite is a CL or CS preferably with no electric hook ups.In France we often free camp next to beaches and spend our money locally rather than waste it on facilities we won’t use.We have everything we need on board so won’t be shelling out £30 a night to park in a row with my wheel on a little flag.Up the FLT’S!!😀

Thanks for that question AC/DC, I was going to ask the same question.
Being a newbie to this I think we will stick to sites for our first few trips, but can definitely see the time when we try going off grid for a day or two.
Cheers

If you don’t use a site and wild camp urban camp what ever that’s cool what the problem
The problem is the scumbags that leave human waste and loads of waste mess etc
Where they do
So the problem is scumbags not the wild campers

The term FLT was coined here about 10 years ago by a funster called Weejocky. It refers to those moronic selfish idiots who find somewhere to park up and take the P by staying far too long and don't care who they are putting out. At the time Weejocky got short shrift from other members here, but IMO his observations were spot on.

Some funsters who wildcamp like to call themselves FLTs. But if I thought for a moment they were proper FLts in the Weejocky sense they would not be welcome here

Just following another flt up through Norway, the car parks are so bad they give you free water and dump points ,a place to park and keep warm around a camp fire . Discusted

Nah!

And they probably don't have the archaic planning laws like those we have.

wild camping is hugely different to FLTs. True wild campers leave a spot better than when they pull up. Never stay more than a day or two. Never inconvenience others. Take ALL their waste away with them. FLTs can not be bothered with any of those niceties. The world is their toilet

I must admit to using my van's canopy as a sunshade when fixing a car before, completely covering the pavement, but no inconvenience to my neighbours, who were free to walk through. One or two took the opportunity to stop for a chat in the shade. But this was pre covid issues

I must admit to being an occasional FLT.
Another car park on an industrial estate:-

I think we may have rested our Moho on that exact industrial estate, however at the time I do believe it had facilities (a tap and a septic tank) on the opposite bank. If it is the same one, on the bridge were planters with loads of petunias that the town used to water and which i deadheaded several times whilst walking across it, whilst Pete gazed deeply into the water to see what fish were in there.

Surely that’s just parked outside the owners house, maybe just drying the canopy out after a wash?

Awning stays look like they are in the garden plus cloth hanging from ladder
